Description When I first got into Magic: the Gathering (around 1994-95 after I grew bored of Pogs) I mostly had cards from the core 3rd edition and Fallen Empires sets. They were the cheaper expansion packs, FE especially since they were the most unpopular, even though the art work was still quite good , I would look on in wonder at those overpriced single cards underneath the display glass at the local comics/game store. The Arabian Nights cards, so noted by it's scimitar symbol and Aladdin'esq themes, had to be the most expensive cards EVER ! One card I actually own (that wasn't in the 3-figure price range) is a Junun Efreet, drawn by Christopher Rush. I always thought that creature was really cool, because Ifreeti in AD&D were always simply the Genie equivalent of Devils (they looked like devils anyway ) but this Efreet (they keep spelling them differently) looks more like some kind of exotic alien type of fiend rather then a clichΓ© western devil, and I saw this alternative illustration of the very same being holding a blue asp (shown above with my drawing) this was featured in a mini issue of Duelist that came with my starter box and thought at first it was a Nafs Asp, but then I got creative and thought maybe the Efreet's lower half could actually be this weird centipede/cobra hybrid to make it even more bizarre, show the whole creature not seen in the card's illustration: [link] I also gave him a random pole-arm but the pose is basically modeled after the original card. Wonder what Chris Rush would think oh and MTG is property of Wizards of the Coast bla bla bla bla leagal bla bla bla
