This is a redo ofΒ
I made if for my friend around this time last year...and I wanted to redo it :'3
A year is a long time to improve and I'm surprised how much I have done so.
Crystals were based off a tutorial (man it was hard to convert this shiz from digi to trad)
Couldn't quite perfect it, but hey it's still nice :3

Acrylics are hard for me to understand.
They dry too fast :c and canvas gets on my nerves. Too much texture, not
enough detail. Gesso is my best friend LOL.

Awh, Acrylics are hard to deal with at first. I've just been using them for so long, i've learned how to use them and have adapted around those negativities.
Yeah, for example the crystals I used a brush that absorbed a lot of water and used that to get a semi-transparent look. When you do that, the paint takes a lot longer to dry (but not like oils though)
And I've never used Gesso, how does it work in comparison?

It just smooths the canvas. I think it's really similar to acrylic.
It's for surfaces mostly. We used it a lot in my Painting class.
We used oils in that class.
