July 16, 2008This is an Illustration I made for a Swimsuit I designed this summer for my last Design class before my Senior Collection Development in the Fall. I'm trying a new Illustration technique I devised half-accidentally in France. Hope you enjoy!
Wish I had a Signature on there, so oops. Let's hope no one tries to claim this as theirs. Maybe I'll scribble one out and photoshop it on? :/
By the way, her forearm is resting on an object for that pose that covers the remainder of her behind and leg--I'm well aware her body wouldn't just disappear, just going for a more minimal sketch.
Mechanical Pencil, Black and Red Sharpee, Prismacolor pencil on Tracing Paper; Smudges, etc. retouched in Photoshop

i love your use of positive and negative on this, the light shading mixed with the blocked areas are just wonderful
the outfit is really feminine and im assuming 50's inspired, i love these retro bathing suits they are just impossible to find lol

haha thank you. It wasn't the easiest to make either, which is probably why they're not so easily found (i.e. reproduction=difficult) haha

i really love this sketch... it's really different in comparison of another sketches, it's more realistic... it's not like some sketches using models with really long legs and a super tiny waist... this is realistic in every way that i can see it
