Description
So this was the sketch from last year's series that received the most votes to be redone. I was originally going to give this a background, but decided against it because a) I couldn't think about what to put, and b) With school getting so close, I didn't want to worry about creating some intricate background when it looks fine as it is.
I'm also going to give some backstory on Nelson, since I don't know when I'll ever get to "Two Minds, Two Paths," if I'll even get there. He is the youngest of three siblings, and has two older half-sisters. His dad's first wife had passed away after their second child, and he remarried, and Nelson was the product of that second marriage. The sisters are spiteful and vindictive of him, constantly telling him that if their mother hadn't died, he wouldn't exist. His parents defend him though, and there came a point in the sisters' teenage years that their father lectures them rather angrily that Nelson is his child too, and that their mistreatment of him would make their own mother ashamed if she were around. He tells them they should love him like their own brother, and that their spite will only serve to hurt and tear apart. The sisters do come around afterwards, and they have a healthier relationship. This much is still early in the story, as I have yet to talk about Reginald Nightwalker (the sabertooth I haven't drawn since June).
I have no idea what I'm going to draw next, despite having a list of ideas. I've decided I won't worry about it though, and just draw whatever I want when I feel like it. I'll just let inspiration strike me on the head when it feels like.
Oh, and this is the original, uncolored version:
