I had a close call one time during an online match in Mario Kart Wii. It was the final lap, and I was almost at the finish line on SNES Mario Circuit 3, when that meddlesome Blue Shell blasted me. As I could never get used to racing with the drift mode set to Manual instead of Automatic with the Wii Wheel, I thought, for sure, I was unable to finish 1st, when to my surprise and eventual relief, I barely did just that! That was truly a close finish!
