Ah Apollyon. The Isaac character that I have the most mixed feelings about.
Great concept, cool design, fun item.
My main problem is that he needs a gimmick unique to him.
Perhaps the active gimmick is exclusive to him, or he has his birthright effect at base, or something entirely new?
I used to say he was lazy but now I feel like a good character was made and then they made his entire gimmick unlockable to other characters. I guarantee people would say the same thing about Bethany if the soul charges gimmick came with book of virtues rather than being only for her.

TLDR: Apollyon is overhated and it's once again Nicalis' fault for screwing the character over.
