This is my concept art for a Steampunk Where's Waldo costume. I also made one for Steampunk Carmen Sandiego.We just recentally found the PERFECT sweater for the Waldo costume at a thrift store for $3.00! I'm getting excited!

This is fantastic. I can just see him wandering around labyrinthine 1800's-esque fantasy settings full of similarly strange characters.

I considered the vest, but figured I wanted to show the stripes more. I went with suspenders.
I found it too hard to find a 'cane' shaped cane that could look steampunk-y, but there were so many good ideas for straight canes, the field opens up if you're willing.

I'm really just going with stuff I have, can make, or can find at Thrift Stores - minus the pocket watch.
Showing enough of the stripes is a hard thing. But I opted for just knitting a striped hat as a trade off for what the vest covers up.
Ideally, I would change the color of the stripes to a leather/bronze, but after sketching it out, I don't think it is recognizable enough as Waldo.

I saw a knitted red and white bowler somewhere... I wish I could find it. It might actually be in this aliaswaldo group...
I had some people skeptical that I could make a recognizable steampunk waldo, but it's been recognized almost universally at a steam-con and PCC this year. Except for one guy in both places who asked about "steampunk Dr. Seuss" or steampunk cat in the hat...
