I personally love him as a leader because he didn't let Thunderclan run his clan like Tallstar unfortunately was forced to (since he was old). I just find it ironic how an abrasive cat like himself is siblings with such a mild cat.

Onestar used to be super chill with Firestar though, and I thought WindClan and ThunderClan having a little alliance was nice, but Onestar absolutely hated all of ThunderClan after he became leader. It was kinda sudden if you ask me?

Well, it was for political reasons mostly. He was forced to be that way because of how Firestar was behaving, as he was essentially another Tigerstar, but instead used his charisma instead of violence to get what he wanted, and that his clan already doubted his abilities thanks to his dependence on Thunderclan in the beginning. Windclan was at the brink of collapsing thanks to Mudclaw, and Onestar needed to prove his point that he could function independently just fine, and I think he did a very good job with it. He did respect Thunderclan, but also knew when to set boundaries, such as when Thunderclan tried to be the "heroes", but instead just made a huge mess multiple times. 

Also, if you have not read Shattered Sky yet, I am about to give out spoilers, so please do not read ahead if you haven't read it yet.

Onestar did have that kittypet mate, producing Darktail as a result. Despite his clan not knowing this until just before his demise, I believe he was also attempting to prove to himself that he could be a good leader. He even said so himself when explaining how he got the clans screwed that he did heavily doubt his abilities, which had brought him to the point of outright refusing help. Again, this has to do with his guilt as a person and his overall abrasive personality. All in all, I love him because of this, but it's okay if you do not.

Yeah, I haven't read Shattered Sky yet so I didn't read the second half~

But it does make sense that he would have had to act a bit more independent. I think I'm also a bit biased though because I loved the whole Tallstar-Firestar, Dad-Son relationship that they kinda had. It was nice lol

XD That's true! I miss the days when the Warriors world was much more simple. But with the things that had to be done, I enjoy Onestar's ability to be independent of Thunderclan when his clan needed that the most. Plus, I think he brought tunneling back to his clan (when considering the third series and how his clan began to use the old tunnels), but we don't have enough information to absolutely know, and if he did, we don't know if he modified it to just those old tunnels or not.
