No, that thing actually exists.
The monks of Ireland were constantly the target of Vikings from Scandinavia. The Irish monks decided to build a tower to keep safe when the Vikings decided to plunder their village. It was a very tall, round tower (given the name: Round Tower with the originality) that stood over their small, beehive-like huts.

They also were monks, therefore "Brothers" (eg Brother Matthew). So when the one monk says it to the other, doesn't mean they're actually siblings.
