I know there are things missing, because its a concept for a story or maybe more so im leaving things out such as a bg or cutiemarks or anything of the such, any advice would help make this better is appreciated

This looks like an interesting concept, what traits did you think of for his parents? As for the cutie marks i think maybe his father should have the same cutie mark for the father like son thing.
