The ride in the van wasn’t exactly long. But to Elizabeth it seemed to take ages. She had so much to process. First her mother died and now they thought she was the one behind it? How would she have done it anyway? She just stayed at home all day, in fact she never left that place unless it was to visit her mother. ‘Maybe it was just a misunderstanding’. Thought Elizabeth to herself. ‘They find out she died of natural causes and then I am free again…’ She sighed. ‘My poor grandparents… They must be so worried. They probably have no clue what is going on.’ A bit later, the van stopped and after some time, in which she heard outside chatter, a new officer opened the door. “Ah, new meat…” She says bluntly. “Cried a lot too it seems. That’s never good.” The officer went inside the van and got out a tissue to remove Elizabeth’s spilled make-up, before getting her out. Elizabeth almost tripped. “Now listen here inmate.” She spoke. “I don’t want any fake tears around here. They won’t help you.” Elizabeth looked at her and did her best not to cry, again. “But… I am innocent.” She said silently. The officer seemed annoyed. “That’s what they all say. And they always get found guilty.” She then grabbed Elizabeth’s arm. “Now follow me, miss good for nothing.”
