I wasn't orignally going to put this one up, but pretty much all my friends that have DA's and saw this told me I should...This is going to be a birthday card for my older sister, who I recently got into A:TLA, since her favorite character is Katara ^^
I apologize for how messy it looks, it looks much better on paper, my scanner just sort of killed it ._.;;
Katara is (c) to the amazing people in the Avatar Team, Mike and Bryan, you guys rock. XD

I'm glad Bryke's continuing the story but in all honesty I enjoyed the cliff hanger a lot. It leaves the ending open to imagination. While Iβm being honest (and please if you're a zuko fan don't kill me for saying this) i didn't really want an answer from Ozai. I think it would have killed it, the ending. Face it; they didn't need to state anything about Ursa. Itβs either she's alive or she's not and whether or not Zuko will go after her. Thatβs where the imagination should take off from. We give our interpretation through fanfics and such.

I'm one of the few people who could get by WITHOUT them adding on the Legend of Korra. It's going to be a completely different show without the characters we grew up with. Since most, if not all of them will by dead, and they are going to try picking up the pieces by throwing together a storyline. (Oh noes, another war! But this time, it's bending nations vs. non-bending people)....I loved the cliff hanger too. The finale of Avatar was possibly the best thing I have ever seen. (I literally watched it over 50 times, and still get chills and can't help but fangirl and smile when I watch it) I'm not particularly looking forward to the new series. It just seems to....new. They have all this new technology, new characters....and there are only so many instances where they can bring the original series back into play...

I'm not totally against the idea of a new series (I mean have you SEEN Mako?) I'm intrigued with the idea of benders vs. non-benders. I'm just afraid that it's going to be too much like other anime. I like the way Avatar: The Last Airbender was as far as how it feels (hard to explain...how the story's told? *shruggs*) I'm just wondering how are they going to pull it off without it being boring? I will say that I'll miss the Gaang
I've watched the ending so many times; I love it. I am sad though because Avatar was kinda ruined for me (I didn't watch the episodes on order -_-) you should have seen my face when i watched sozin's comet xD

Curse you nickelodeon for not putting the episodes in order! I missed out on so much. I didn't start watching the show until the summer Sozin's comet came out -_- so it was like summer reruns and they were out of order *sigh* but it's all good. i have the whole show on DVD >XD

The only reason I'm really against it is the fact that the Team had a GREAT story. It inspired pretty much everything I do now. But once they ended it, they decided to try to keep it going with a new storyline. Who knows if they will make more series about even more avatars? I'm going to miss the Gaang. (I am happy with the fact that the pairings they set up in A:TLA will be canon in the new series though) Apparently Toph had children (presumably with the Duke), and taught a bunch of people how to do Metal bending, so all the Earthbender guards now know it.
I just...I was so happy when the show ended because it gave everyone closure. I never liked the idea of continuing a story like that for the sake of continuing it. (Yes, they CAN continue, but that doesn't mean they should)
I literally watched that show from the original premier of the first episode, all the way through to the end.

Yeah I'm not big on a never ending story. (ex. Harry Potter- It better end with this book/ movie. it seems appropriate) You're right; they had a great story and even though you can keep going, sometimes it's best not to. who knows it might turn out good, or at least i hope it will. But I like closure, knowing "Hey. This is the end. It was a great ride and it will never be forgotten."
I learned alot form the show, too many things to list xD And that's what seperates it from most series. What would the world be without avatar? I shudder to think.

Exactly. And like all those movie franchisesβ Saw, Final Destination, Land Before Time....pretty much any Disney movie. They were good movies. No need to make another 5 sequels.
I will never forget A:TLA, and nothing can ever replace it. It inspired my art, my writing, and so much more in my life.

i won't be able to see it, so I'm not as worried. if i could, i would; just to see it.
it kinda does seem forced. can't put my finger on it. maybe it was all the pressure from the other fans asking if there was going to be a season 4. they clearly said "No. there is no season 4. it was planned from the start. there was only going to be 3 seasons." And what are they doing? making another season...well spin-off. what's the difference...

gah stop listing, i'm gonna cry. i've read fanfics where at least one of the characters you've mentioned is dead. I gotta give ya a link; the one i'm thinking about is great. it's a one-shot and there are NO ships, which makes it awesome.

have you read all of the chapters i have up so far and if so what do you think about my OC? a bit cruel huh? >XD j/k. i have alot planned out for her. things will get interesting but have to plan ahead so i don't get too carried away.
way before i started posting i had to figure out her family tree and boy did that take for ever! i had to figure out the dates they were born so it would correlated with canon. i didn't want it to be inaccurate. i want it to stay true to the series.
i took quite a few mary-sue tests to make sure she wasn't one (thank god, no) if she sounded mary-sue at all, i would have never posted the story.

Just read them all. Elena seems like a good character, but you need to develop her more through the writing. You seem to be summarizing the episodes everyone already knows about...why not change things so you see them more from her perspective? You didn't put much interaction between Elena and the other main characters, so if I were you, I'd try to focus on developing her a little more, and reciting the lines from the show a little less~ But that's it really. I love your writing style~ (and try putting more text, less dialogue)

The main reason why I'm so frustrated with this fanfic. I'm terribly struggling with how to write it. I don't know how much to keep from the show. I'm afraid to leave anything out because there so much in the relationships between each character that I don't want to ignore. And...the...dialogue. -_-' I hate what I have so far as dialogue is concerned. I'm trying to figure out hopw to incorporate Elena into conversations. Grr!
I did pick up on the fact that she doesn't interact with ANYONE hardly. Again I want to put it in her perspective without ignoring the other characters and I'm failing completely -_-'
I'm glad you gave me a link to your story. I like to read the works of others to gain more perspective into writing scenes. I know I can be descriptive, I just need to work on it some more.

And you're welcome~ I love giving honest critiques. I think what you could try to do is, instead of typing out a fight or argument between two of the main characters, say something like. "She listened to the two of them bicker, quietly thinking to herself...." and then elaborate what's going on in her head while the story from the episodes is actually happening. You could also probably avoid writing from Zuko's point of view....it might even be easier for you to leave Zuko out so you can add your own little events of what happens with the gaang while Zuko is having his adventures.

Hmm that might just work. Though I think the only thing I'm proud of so far was the fight scene between Zuko and Zhao ^^' That was me practicing how to write fight scenes.
I think you're right about leaving Zuko's adventures out; it's distracting the reader's attention away from Elena. Plus most people who read fanfics have seen the show so they should know what's going on with Zuko during the chapters.
I need to do some serious brainstorming and read more avatar fanfics like what I'm doing here. I have found one similar to mine (as in like a recap of the show with an OC perpsective)but it wasn't that good.

For a while I've been Zutara, sorta Taang, Sukka (I call it Sokki-get it? ^^)But with the fanfic I'm shifting my brain into canon which is making me change my mind about my shipping preferences @.@ I think I'll always like Zutara just not as much ^^

I never really liked Zutara or Taang. They made okay friends, but their personalities never really seemed to work as a pairing.
But Toph and The Duke is probably one of my favorites. It's adorable~

When I think about it more Zutara would have kinda just been Katara attracted to Zuko. I don't think he'd ever like her, but they'd definately make good friends. I only got the Taang idea because I was reading this one fanfic [link] Tuke seems out there for me since Toph's all tough and The Duke is well I don't really know what The Duke's like...they did look cute in the finale though ^^

Yeah, she's not really Zuko's type. Mai is just the perfect person for Zuko to be paired with in my opinion.

They are adorable in the finale. And I think their personalities would work out pretty well, since The Duke is rather calm and Toph is louder, they'd balance each other out.
