I love how well you blend flowers, leaves, bone and flesh. Do you have any recommendations for reference material or practice subjects/exercises?

I've done studies of lots of natural textures that have helped me - tree bark, weathered bone, macro shots of plant leaves and petals, etc.
Loosening up and letting some natural textures come out and learning how to work with them is also really big. I work traditionally, so I tend to accentuate naturally occurring paint granulation and pencil texture while I work. I have little experience with working digitally, but you could probably get a similar effect with some of the texture brushes available.

I'll try around with more of those, thank you for the time.
I've noticed that digital media for all it's ease tends to give very stilted and flat results with most of the textures unless you sort of 'know' the pattern it should make before hand.
Thanks for the advice though and I'll see if I can find some ones that work well for me.
