Oh hey Bob the lizard thing, how's it going? how are the wife and kids? Eaten by coyotes you say? Well, sorry to hear that Bob.
ANYWAY. Yeah, character belongs to Mir, yadda yadda. Did not mean to spend quite so much time on this when I started, but I had fun with it so I went a little crazy with the background. Mir herself could probably use a bit more shading, but i liked how the white fur made her pop out of an otherwise busy background, so I figured I'd leave it lightly shaded. Bob the lizard doesn't stand out as much as I'd like, but I'm through messing with him, I dont need to turn him into a sparkle lizard.
Maybe 6 hours? I've discovered that coffee and having shitty B monster movies playing in the background helps me draw, so maybe I'll be a bit more productive now, lol.

SO how did you create this? Digitally or with your bare hands on materials? I am also wondering on the textured background. Is it part of Bristol board you used or just added in digitally?

it's all traditional, like almost all of my work. the texture comes from the watercolor paper i used, and the medium is mostly watercolor with a little watered down acrylic and gel pen (both white).

Amazing. Digital art cool to view but I get a real kick out of seeing things done in traditional media, especially subject matter that is not usually seen in traditional media. How long would you say it took you to get to that point? Like an estimation of total time?

I definitely like Mir lightly shaded and I would have to agree on the amount of poppingness it creates....popping-ness?
As always, awesome trees and plants...too bad for Bob though. Coyotes have to eat too -_-
