Description in the early 1900s, The danish state railways chief designer, Otto Busse, designed a variant of his 4-4-0 K-class in the form of the C-class. It was a 4-4-0 like the K-class but instead of the outside allan valve gear it was equipped with inside valve gear which gave its crew a much smoother ride. They were built in a batch of 19 engines and were in service on Sealand only.
They were used on passenger and express trains and could be seen on services to, Kalundborg, Korsør and Madnesø. In some cases they were used on ballast trains and and permanent way trains until 1967.
Today the last one left is 708 and as recently as 2016 it was moved from Roskilde to Randers where it is now put on storage, as of the moment there are no plans to restore it.
No 701 us here portrayed as the class looked like in the early 1900's.
