Description Alright, so here's a selfie I took of me as Deadite Mia from the 2013 reboot "Evil Dead". I hadn't gone as anything scary or horror related the last two years - I went as Jack Frost two years ago and the 11th Doctor last year. Before that, I had gone as horror related things - an undead phase during middle school (bride, gothic person, and escaped criminal), Wednesday Addams, Esther from the movie "Orphan", and Tiffany from "Bride of Chucky". This year I wanted to go as something scary so I went with Deadite Mia from the 2013 reboot "Evil Dead" (one of my favorite horror movies, surprisingly).

I put a lot of work into this one, especially into the book. I went out of my way to make the necronomicon and although it was a painfully long process, it came out very well done. Had to buy a journal, paste individual sets of three pages to make the pages thicker, hunted down pictures, had to cut and measure them before pasting them, painted every page with coffee - including the edges, used a pen and did some writing - both symbols and warnings, colored the whole cover, spine, and back with brown marker and had to spray it with something to make sure it didn't smudge or get wet, had to make individual holes everywhere before doing the stitching, and then of course, I had fun with splattering the pages with fake blood. My mom didn't understand why I was putting so much work into one book for one night of the year, but I'm the kind of person who likes to put a lot of detail into my costumes, not to mention I had wanted to make the book beforehand anyway as a replica.

Anyway, I had to put a lot of blood on my dress, gel in my hair to make it stringy, and all the make up on my face, neck, shoulders, and arms - that was all my doing, no help from my mom or anyone. I've never once done detailed make up on my face before - with the exception of my Hysteria cosplay, but that wasn't detailed. This involved burns and making myself look infected and gross, and I wasn't able to get my hands on fake skin, so I had to make do with what I had, and I got to say, it came out pretty damn good for a first try. Even my family was creeped out and disgusted by my appearance. The only thing I have to complain about is how I didn't manage to get some colored contacts to really look possessed. The only reason I didn't get any was because I thought they were expensive and that my mom would say no, plus I was busy with putting together the book so I had limited time on my hands.

But to top everything off, I had walked/limped/stumbled around my neighbourhood three times - pretty much dragging my feet and twitching every few seconds, acting like I was possessed, staring at some things or people from time to time, sometimes with a creepy grin - and man, I really got some good reactions. A lot of people were glancing at me - some with a smile out of amusement, while others looked unsettled and worried. A few people I knew made some jokes about how I "must've eaten something bad; something didn't agree with me/I was a messy eater tonight", or how I "looked fabulous, and very pretty tonight". There were a few who loved how I was staying in character the entire time, even though a majority of people thought I was a zombie, but I don't care. It was fun freaking people out and overhearing everyone's thoughts.

Side note, my mom and some friends of ours kept worrying that I was getting cold, and damn straight I was cold! I was freezing my ass off! But I kept telling them it only added to the effect of me twitching every now and then; some of the twitching and shudders were real XD

Oh well thank you

Yeah, it was funny seeing and hearing people's reactions. Some were thoroughly amused with how in character I was and just how creepy I was being (I was even managing to scare the hell out of my youngest bro), while other people looked quite unsettled and would stay away from me, looking at me like I was deranged. It was very amusing, to say the least
