Sons of previous heroes (Goku and Ultraman Seven) who go on a journey to being the universe's next protector and leader of the next generation of heroes/father both were trained since they were child by the allies of their dad and finally coming in to fight a villain who no one was able to stop (Perfect Cell and Belial) with both Gohan and Zero realizing their true potential and defeating them. Also Gohan does grow up to be a family first and fighter second and Ultraman Zero bonded with a human host that basically did the same thing.
