Background
500 years ago, Sere (then Chroma) befriended a mortal girl named Celeste. The two became very close, to the point that it worried the gods. To spare Chroma the pain of watching Celeste age and die they decided to remove Celeste from the mortal world before the two became too close. Unfortunately it was too late, and Chroma was devastated by her death. He fell into a deep depression, gradually fading to grey and leaching the color out of the lands around his home. This nearly destroyed part of the worlds population, and drew the attention of the gods. They demanded that Chroma return to his task of coloring the world. Chroma refused to lift a finger until Celeste was returned to life. So a deal was struck.

Celeste's soul was returned to the world, but in a different body. She would be continually reincarnated until Chroma found her or gave up. To help Chroma, a charm was placed on Celeste's name, so that if a mortal has ever seen her no matter what the form they would be compelled to tell Chroma where they had seen her last..

Sere is very friendly, willing to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He is fluent in many different languages and cultures and has few problems when interacting with large crowds. While not exactly possessing a silver tongue, he does have a bit of charm. He is polite and respectful towards his superiors.

Despite his people skills, Sere will make no attempts to form any sort of lasting relationship with anyone. He can be uncaring about situations that do not directly involve him. He is a bit cowardly, and unless you're very important or useful to him, he will not hesitate to leave you behind. Occasionally arrogant as, after all, he's immortal and will most likely outlive you. As a “higher” immortal, Sere will look down on those of lesser power, though he mostly keeps this opinion to himself.

Being “immortal” does not ensure that Sere cannot be killed. It just means that no matter what he will eventually come back to life. He does have accelerated regenerative abilities. No matter how serious the wound it will be
completely gone in about 2 weeks, and most would will be healed to the point of mobility in 8 hours.

As an immortal, Sere does not require food or drink to survive. If offered food he will accept it, though he will not take a serving on his own. He does not sweat. He does, however, need to breathe and sleep. His sleep cycle is 36 hours of consciousness and 12 hours of sleep. This allows him to do his job at night.

Sere can balance on a ledge less than an inch in diameter. It's just a weird ability of his, though he will use it to his advantage.

Ever since he became grey he has become less tolerant of cold temperatures. His coat, though thin, is extremely warm. If he gets to be too cold he will put on his hat. He will never ever remove his scarf no matter what.

His scarf is long enough to touch the ground if he held still, though it never does.

Sere likes to sing while working by himself. He isn't a bad singer, but he will still become embarrassed if someone overhears him.

His emotional state also affects his environment. If his stays in one place for longer than 8 hours, he will begin leaching the color out of his surroundings. The color returns at the same rate after he leaves.
