Well, this is was way out of my comfort zone...i don't usually put much care in bgs so i decided to try making something a little more detailed than what i usually do just to try.Also, apparently drawing fillies can be a true nightmare for me since i had to redraw them more times than kubrick redid scenes because there was always something bothering me. Also also, i know this is a weird framing but doing a whole landscape would have killed me and i wanted to leave some focus on AJ and Rara anyway
Anyway, as usual, i hope you'll like this

Rara and AJ look so adorable in a chubby way! Rara's so cute I'd give her either a belly wub or a belly raspberry.
I know that AJ and Rara are napping but at 1st glance it's almost as if Rara's singing. She honestly reminds me of Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier. Both characters are singers and they also have wonderful personalities.

I'll be honest...I fangirled so hard when I saw this. Β Not just because of the background...but two of my favorite ponies, as fillies, sleeping and super fluffy.
I want to cuddle them, but I don't want to wake them up either.

It's always a huge risk, doing something you're not familiar with may end with lots of frustration for many different reasons...but i think it's a risk worth taking, you can always do better the next time

Doing the scenery as nice as you did makes the picture that much better. It helps to draw out the tone and idea of the image, that is, a nap under a big tree, yeah, that's a happy scene, and by giving detail to the scenery, it helps give that idea even more weight.

It really depends on how you concieve the idea in your mind, some ideas are heavily dependant on the context some others on the atmosphere...of course getting everything right helps all the time but knowing when the background should have more space is important too i feel.

No worries, backgrounds were always the bane of my existence as well, you did some really cool job on this one. You did some impressive work on details and overall I love that peacfull atmosphere ^^
