Description Leather archers quiver or "utili-quiver"
this is the first quiver attempt I've made. It was great fun and I love wearing it to archery shoots.

Sorry for the late reply, I can when I start making more of them. I just sold this one. Heh. Now I gotta make more. What kinda mods are you thinking about?

I'm looking to make my own and love they way you did your shoulder strap. Β Do you happen to have a pattern I could base my design off of?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

theDOC30427 In reply to Erikorn [2015-03-13 21:47:40 +0000 UTC]

I don't do or keep many patterns. I'd recommend just making one out of backing board first. Make sure there's a slight curve in it to fit over the shoulder comfortably. Then use that as a pattern to trace onto the leather. Good luck!

Hahah, I've only sold 2 utili-quivers so far. They both went for about $500. I have 2 left I haven't finished yet.

Give me a heads up when you finish one. $500 is reasonable.

On my, that is so awesome! Are you selling this? Or similar models? Do you take commissions?

thank you! Right now, its my only quiver. So if I sell it it won't be cheap. But yes, I sometimes take commissions

Very cool design.Β  Love the patterning at the top and bottom and the overall design of the quiver.Β  Definitely like theΒ ability to strap the bow to the quiver.Β  I'm currently working on designing a back quiver and have been kind of torn between using a y-sling design or keeping to the simpler single strap design like you used here.Β

theDOC30427 In reply to Aayrick [2014-01-01 16:11:03 +0000 UTC]

I'd go with a Y sling. It just adds better support and grip.

I need one of these! of course the knife pocket would have to be different to fit in my skinning knife, but its amazing

theDOC30427 In reply to WWHSTUD [2013-11-29 14:12:01 +0000 UTC]

the knife is on its own. The strap is what keeps it on so you can exchange it with any knife you need

Have you seen any other people use back quivers at archery shoots? When I've gone I'm the only one using one as well as the only one using homemade arrows.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

theDOC30427 In reply to The-Master-Mason [2013-11-29 14:12:58 +0000 UTC]

I mostly see hip quivers, i'm not sure why people don't like back quiver's. Perhaps its an easier draw for them?

looks really good, perhaps you should try making a quiver that goes on the hip (like a belt I guess), seeing that wearing it that way is more practical and that wearing it like that was more commonly used too...

but really, good job, it looks amazing
