1 Zod: “It distresses me that someone who should be a god spends all his time bowing and serving little, mortal maggots. You are an embarrassment to our species. If you must kneel, why not do it to me?”
2 Superman: “The people of Earth are beautiful, General. They’re not maggots. Not having powers doesn’t mean their lives are inconsequential.”
2 Zod: “You are a fool, Kal-El. Some creatures are beneath the notice of beings like us.”
3 Superman: “Oh, Zod, if only you could sense how significant you are to the lives of everyone you encounter; how meaningful you can be to undreamt-of others. Don’t you ever think about it? There is something of ourselves that we leave behind at every meeting with another person. Why not use that power, that influence, to make the world better?”
4 Zod: “Foolish logic, Superman. If that’s so, then in each of our battles, I also make you a little more like myself!”
5 Superman: “Indeed you do. At each of our encounters, I feel some of your bravery, focus, and determination. And I hope I learn from that – that it rubs off on me. But not to use it for evil.”
5 Zod: “It is good that you recognize that I am your teacher. But only an imbecile would take such mighty lessons and apply them to serving ants.”
6 Superman: “If you are so unrepentant, then you can’t be negotiated with. I’ll have to exile you back to the Phantom Zone.”
6 Zod: “By all means, try! But this day will end with you at my feet!”
