Excuse me if I may correct you, The Soviet Union was a complete jerk, Russia however is not. Soviet Union and Russia are two very different from each other. And I absolutely hate it when people blame Russia for what the Soviet Union did. Thank you and bye.

During rebellion in Caucasus when chechens declared their sovereignty and independence russian government in a state of stupor and desperation offered to her military officers and tank crewmembers which were living in poverty when army was thrown to the extinction to depart to the Caucasus to help anti-Dudaev forces to return the city of Grozniy. Operation ended with total disaster. Many good soldiers of Russia died that day, many got captured. And wht did do Russia? Nothing. Nothing to help her soldiers. Russia declared that captured and killed russian soldiers there were mercenaries. And she won't help them because they wasn't her soldiers.
But that episode is ain't much far from the existing of the nowadays Chechen leader Rumzan Kadyrov, former terrorist and anti-russian rebel. He was saying once that he killed his first russian soldier in age of 15. Now he's a hero of Russia, got the medals, cash and power.
That's why I hate Russia. Especially Sochi.

(( I actually i will read this. You're correct, you do have the right. But, I don't say Germany's a jerk because of ww2 and ww1. I'm german and I guess I would have the right to say 'I hate Germany' if I do, but I don't. Because i don't judge it by it's evil, terrible history of war and destruction. That's in the past. None of that was the country's fault anyway. It was the people/person who was ruling it's fault. It was the people who were encouraging it to continue happening faults. Look, I'm not saying you're not allowed to have your own opinion and i'm definitely not trying to start a fight, I'm just giving my reason as to why I don't hate my country. Germany didn't betrayed her soldiers alike Russia. Russia did. That's why I hate my country for her hypocrisy, lying and corruption. Former muslim rebel Kadyrov on that "Olympics" said that He is Russia and Russia is him. Brilliant.
