This is beautiful. Horrific, bloody, and savage. Roaring a defiant scream to declare that “this is its pray all who interfere will pay.”

This approach to the Wendigo myth is definitely different from what I have mostly seen of the same creature. First, the face of the creature is probably my favorite part of its design. The molding of the two skulls so that it looks like it's eating itself is great! In addition, the antlers going through the eye's of the more human-like skull can come off as succumbing to a bestial nature, of which is faithful to the original idea of the Native American tale. Second, the body is very willowy of which can show a constant hunger. I also appreciate that The artist made the willowy form without making it look weak, IE Until Dawn's oversized Smeagol design. Third, the amalgamation of animal parts can show how whoever this person was is now lost. I can also appreciate that the artist didn't go too crazy with the animal parts. To retain a somewhat humanoid form is good, but the rattlesnake tail is questionable. All in all, I do like this take on the Windigo and I can say that if I came face to face with this version I would lose all my dignity as a man before I died.

Great work and scary. Another one of many creatures from various mythologies that more terrifying than the stuff from Creepypasta. (In my opinion) another creature from mythology that terrifying is the: Rake. Contrary to popular culture, the Rake itself was created in legends, not creepypasta. Which arguably is different in comparison to, for example Slenderman, who while having inspiration from the Japanese faceless ghost: Noppera bo of mythology, but not entirely. The Rake is in Creepypasta, BUT it is the Creepypasta interpretation of the Rake. The mythical version is more spiritual than Creepypasta’s flesh and blood. Appearing as an abnormally tall and featureless shadow with shadow tendrils. In a visual, think of you outside on a bright sunny day and your shadow is cast from the sun. With your shadow appearing with elongated arms and legs, and no discernible features. That is what the myth Rake is like. Which I will admit is pretty terrifying looking based on that description as a giant spindly shadow creature with no features but only a pair of glowing eyes. Even having elements like of Freddy Krueger, using a victim’s fear to manifest itself, even fear not caused by the creature itself. Worse is that it can attack its victims where they are most vulnerable: in their sleep! Which the victim would never wake up from or even wake to look at them. The only way a death from that or other settings is for their to be another person, a witness. So if you are attacked in your sleep, but there’s a person in an opposite bunk bed waking up to see this terrifying shadow squeezed into the room. It will quickly vanish, as it can’t kill with witnesses. Meanwhile the victim has no idea what really happened, to them it was only having breathing problems in their sleep. Such was an occasion, for one female witness/victim of a Rake in Pennsylvania. First she saw it with her boyfriend when she snuck out of her dorm in a catholic boarding school to smoke on the grounds. The Rake manifested itself when it feed off from her fear of being caught by a faculty member out patrolling with a dog. She recounted that it looked pretty looked like that sun casting shadow analogy I gave. It turned walked hastily a bit away before vanishing completely as the faculty’s dog was perceiving it and alerting towards it. The second time was just that terrifying moment of being attacked in her sleep. She said how she only perceived having trouble breathing in her sleep, but her bunk mate in the bed across witnessed something very different! Her bunk mate was asleep previously, but awoke to stare in horror at the Rake squeezed into the dorm room. Smothering her with its large elongated hands. Luckily for her, the Rake realized her presence and quietly (in open mouth horror) watching that it disappeared into thin air. Which then the bunk mate told her exactly what just happened and she was absolutely shaken as she was close to never waking up. Shaking was she that she willed herself to inform the Catholic dean about the encounter. Then when she came back to the dorm with the multiple beds, where she slept, there was actually a medicine woman inside and performing a cleansing. Which for a Catholic school to call a medicine woman is pretty much unheard of as the witness stated and would have been used ONLY for as a last and very serious resort. 😨😨😨

A creative take on the modern interpretation of the Wendigo - I really love the way the more beastly skull emerges from the human skull, really shows the transition from man to predator very well, the pose is great too and the overall execution of the piece really sets off the design

That is actually horrifying. I love how the mouth comes out of the vacant human skull it no longer needs, it shows the agony of the transformation, especially the antlers coming out of the eyes.

this looks AMAZING
the pose is perfect, the detail is amazing and the design is just GRAND
the best bit is the way it has a human skull and has a beasts skull bursting out of the human jaws, it really adds to the nightmarish origin of the Wendigo
another detail i notice is that it has features of many american animals
. a rattle snake tail
. porcupine quills
. deer antlers (which i have seen before in wendigo)
. a wolf skull (or maybe some other canid like a coyote)
. what i can only assume are eagle feathers
. and hooves of what i can only assume is a bison
i simply LOVE the amount of love put into this monster, with so much references to the animals that live in it's country of origin all mixed together in a beautifully done nightmare of a monster
even the weather is fitting, as the Wendigo is commonly shown to attack in snow filled areas were food is scarce

very well done

Awesome! This is a super freaky incarnation of the creature, great detail; especially the monster from the human body aspects.

Makes me want to watch that film even more now.

Thanks! The movie showed a wendigo in a book for like a few seconds, but thats about it. It's a fun movie though, I enjoyed it! I highly recommend the book though, the wendigo is in it a lot more and is very creepy. It also explains more why the dead come back not themselves and evil.

Stephen King novels are much better than the movies, can't beat a vivid imagination! Though it's not one i've read yet.
