Description "All units, prepare for atmospheric combat."

Since ancient times, pirates had been regarded as either savage raiders, loyal privateers or debonair highwaymen. These notions faded into obscurity in the modern era - the few that could be considered pirates were little more than desperate third-world denizens, armed with little more than obsolete surplus weapons and crumbling skiffs. They were barely scraping by through kidnapping and robbery. What influence they had was short-lived, as corporations began hiring well-armed, highly-trained mercenaries and private military corporations to guard their shipments. Militaries from the developed nations cared little for sovereign boundaries and sent their forces to cleanse out pirates wherever they were: on land, sea, air and in space.

The onset of the Atlas Conflict changed everything - mysterious factions began waging unconventional warfare against leading nations and colonies. Weapons proliferated in the hands of terrorists and violent gangs, while dangerous ideologies spread like wildfire. Civil war and genocide soon followed in a matter of months - once serene landscapes became utterly nightmarish to behold. The total destruction could not be measured, but it is estimated that as much as half the population of Earth and the colonies was lost.

Likewise, the balance of power shifted, as large multinational conglomerates built private armies to expand and protect their business. Underworld organizations masquerading as legitimate business concerns did the same. With no nations left to serve, many veterans of the wars found themselves working for smugglers, drug cartels, human traffickers, and other criminal enterprises. Without government restrictions, advanced and forbidden arms technology circulated - anyone with the money or connections could build a fighting force rivaling that of former military powers.

While not unforeseen, the resurgence of piracy came about in a way few expected. Despite the firepower that corporate fleets and government remnants commanded, reports came in detailing battles in which they lost decisively. Survivors recalled encountering hostile warships with no clear affiliation to any corporation or nation. The assailants could be none other than pirates, if not mercenaries or clandestine forces serving rogue nations. These enemies possessed technological superiority: ships with cloaking capabilities, extreme long-range weapons, and devastating electronic warfare capabilities. In addition to being well-equipped, these hostiles possessed an uncanny level of combat experience. There was no doubt that many war veterans were also among the pirates' ranks; starting from the lowliest soldiers, to pilots and special warfare operators.

There was no greater sense of despair than being shot at by invisible enemies, or being trapped in a vessel infiltrated by netrunners and crippled by viruses. Close combat was a living nightmare, as defenders found themselves coming face to face with intruders backed by close air support, powered-armor, and drones.

There were other stories initially met with skepticism - of a strange weapon that allowed an individual user to wield the firepower of a battleship or carrier, all the while maintaining the footprint and mobility of an interceptor or fighter. Such equipment was described as little more than a harness or exoskeleton adorned with miniaturized weapons and drones. Nobody understood how they worked, but the world was already rife with supernatural phenomena lacking explanation. Stories of encounters with this unusual technology only continued to circulate, former skeptics reversing their positions after witnessing what they believed to be fictitious.

My character, Scarlet - proving that shipgirls/shipfus can also make great pirates. She's leading three destroyers, a STOVL carrier and various supporting aircraft against United Capital Financial Corporation security forces sent to intercept them.

Oh shit, that game is kind of known for having its problems concerning registration xD I managed to register and get it to work on my laptop last year and played the game with some people from uni for some time, but it just randomly stopped working at some point for no apparent reason^^
Well, for never having played the game, even more impressive, how you managed to nail down the whole 'ship-person' aesthetics

Good for the devs - in this day and age it's not like these games don't have alternatives. I entertained playing Azur Lane but honestly already had enough other games on my phone and such.

Never even heard of that one but I'm not that big into mobile gaming, since my cell phone is quite shitty - that thing really can only be called 'smart' in the most broad sense of the word xD Well, seeing how bad I am at regularly checking in on any type of online account, maybe I'm just not made for browser-games ^.^

It's funny, I've actually sort of followed the game over the past year and didn't realize the anime existed until after the first episode aired.

Personally think that you should do more of these - different classes, factions and etc. Also, the nose arts of the ships in the background are amazing!
