Description This is a little concept I've had for a little while that I decided to go with and try and push other members of DU to try themselves. Its a character wiki of sorts which I have taken huge inspiration from Comicvine biographies for comic characters. It basically lists a little about the character and also gives further detail of the powers and what not. It's main purpose though is to give a summary of what the character has been through so far and what they were up to during certain events, which I thought was ideal for Deviant Universe.

So this is Blaze. Story arc wise she has only been involved with the major summer arcs of Deviant Universe so I imagine other bios of other characters to contain some more story of events. I encourage other people to make one of these for their characters, even add anything I no doubt missed when setting up, and leave their wiki open to update as Deviant Universe progresses with new storylines with their characters further developing.

I do have to warn that I consider DU Blaze to be an alternative Blaze of sorts. Whilst her character and origins are the same, I don't treat DU Blaze as actual canon Blaze, hence why much and most of other events Blaze is involved with are not included or mentioned.

STATISTICS:-

Gender:- Female
Height:- 5’10”
Weight:- 145lbs
Known Relatives:- Joshua Hawke (Husband/Deceased), Michael Williams (father), Rick Williams (brother).
Citizenship:- United Kingdom
Place of Birth:- Unknown
Martial Status:- Single
Occupation:- Enforcer

ORIGIN:-

The true birthplace of Rachael Rebecca Williams has not been disclosed. Upon her birth she was adopted by Michael Williams, one of twelve directors of a questionable yet very powerful and globally influential company known only as the Corporation. Her adopted mother died when Rachael was very young, leaving Rachael to be brought up by her father and older adopted brother Rick. Though officially raised in Liverpool, England, Rachael spent the majority of her childhood and adolescent life in an experimental program with 11 other subjects around the same age. There is scarce information on the project and only rumours, but of the twelve subjects in the experimental training program, only Rachael remains alive, having lost her teammates and her newlywed husband, Joshua Hawke who was also a part of the experiment.

Little is known about Rachael since she appeared on the scene under the moniker of Blaze, and due to her past ties with the Corporation, many other heroes and crime fighters hold little trust for the gunslinger, as dark rumours surround a very uncertain and dark past.

POWERS:-

Blaze is the result of vast human experimentation and intense training. Her body was subjected to all manner of tests and experiments whilst in the Corporation’s program. Though once human, Blaze is now considered Meta-Human due to the extreme enhancements her body undertook during the secretive program. It is unknown how Corporation scientists managed to achieve such human enhancement, as their head scientist went rogue and has long been missing ever since.
In union with her abilities, Blaze is an excellent marksman and highly trained in hand to hand combat.

HYPER SPEED/AGILITY/REFLEXES:-
Blaze has the ability to move with superhuman speed, easily capable of dodging melee and even high velocity projectile attacks. Due to the nature of her combat style, this ability helps her to keep her distance from enemies, and makes her a very dangerous opponent when forced to engage up close and personal against some enemies due to her superior speed and superhuman reflexes. Blaze also possesses unnatural flexibility, making her alarmingly agile and nimble.

SPACIAL AWARENESS:-
Blaze is acute to movement around her person, able to detect motion and other people without needing sight of them. Though the range of this ability is only spans a couple of metres, it can alert Blaze to ambushes or blindsiding attacks from projectiles, granting her precious time to avoid with her super human speed and prevent her from being caught completely off guard.

RESURRECTION:-
Perhaps the most interesting and unusual power Blaze possesses is her ability to bring herself back from the dead. Her body regenerates from mortal wounds when deceased before returning her to life. This ability is a close guarded secret of Blaze’s, and only her father and a very select few Corporation officials are aware of this ability.

STORY ARC:-

MAXIMUN DESTRUCTION:-

Blaze was one of many heroes targeted during the great Psi-Void invasion of earth. Whilst the Cy-Droids attacked innocent civilians, personal soldiers of the Corporation were sent in amongst armed forces to combat the alien foe. Blaze was active in one of many warzones, destroying multiple Cy-Droids and assisting any civilians she could, leading them to take shelter from the worst of the invasion.
Eventually she was targeted and attacked by the Cy-Droids, who changed their objectives to capture her once her meta-human status was detected. During her battle with the Cy-Droids, one of the machines managed to seize her during an attack. When seized by one of the Cy-Droids, Blaze was wounded by an explosion when the Cy-Droid holding her was decimated by another Cy-Droid’s blast. Before she could recover, Blaze was captured and taken to Psi-Void’s base.

Amongst many captured heroes and villains, it did not take long before alliances were formed against a greater threat, and those involved began to break free from captivity. Blaze joined up with Vicky Velocity and Wireless to retrieve stolen weapons of many captives from Psi-Voids trophy room, successfully destroying many Cy-Droids along the way and retrieving the weapons. When her task was complete, Blaze rejoined the fight to help take down Latika, one of Psi-Voids personal guards.

When Psi-Voids personal guards were taken down by combined efforts, Blaze joined all the heroes and villains to take on Psi-Void directly in a final battle. After various heroes were dispatched by the powerful menace, both Blaze and Rufus teamed up to take him on directly. After a brief confrontation, Blaze and Rufus were ultimately outmatched and defeated, with the latter losing an arm during the struggle. Psi-Void managed to detect the hidden resurrection ability within Blaze after she was rendered unconscious, finding sudden great worth in her.
Rufus quickly tried to intervene with Psi-Void when he finds out his intentions to extract what he can from Blaze, though Psi-Void instead offered to spare Blaze from her terrible fate if Rufus was to join him as a new personal guard after all his previous ones had been defeated. Other heroes quickly interjected to continue the battle, and Psi-Void is eventually defeated, sparing Rufus from a difficult choice.

When the invasion was finally stopped, all the heroes and villains formed a brief truce and returned home. Blaze was fortunate enough to sustain only minor wounds from the final battle, and returned with the rest of the heroes back to earth, visiting the ceremony to honour those lost during the invasion.

FREEDOM WAR:-

After the Rockfort disaster caused by Pixel in an act of unknown madness, the governments around the world implement a program in which superheroes around the globe must register into the Thunder Force organization for training. It was a means to satisfy and calm an increasingly worried public after the full power of the heroes was witnessed by the fall of Psi0Void. Increasing tensions forced the registration. Many of the heroes rise up against this forced registration however, finding it as a violation against their rights. A head member of the newly formed Raptor known as Supervisor Lloyd forces an ultimatum upon the reluctant heroes, giving them only twenty four hours to register or face arrest.

Though Blaze was not present at the meeting when all heroes were requested to attend, 42X (who supported the registration) visited Blaze with the deadline fast approaching, concerned after she failed to attend the meeting. During the discussion, Blaze agrees that registration would be good for many of the young heroes, but goes against the idea of being forced to sign, especially in the wake of Psi-Voids invasion being prevented. Whilst 42X and Blaze debate their views, Lloyd sends in a Raptor team to try and arrest Blaze for failing to sign when the deadline finally passes. Blaze responds aggressively and wounds many of the team members before making her escape. After fleeing from her apartment, now a wanted criminal, Blaze encounters Rufus who has also failed to sign the registration. The two go into hiding, looking to lie low for a while and plan the next move with Raptor and Thunder Force becoming their enemies.

After some time, Vigil manages to locate Blaze and Rufus, bearing terrible news about Pixel and what he will do in the far future if he is not stopped. Vigil tells of an apocalypse brought on by Pixel, in which nearly all the heroes of this time are murdered by him. Though skeptical, Blaze reluctantly decides to join in Vigil’s plan to assault the Thunder Force to try to get to Pixel, though Blaze secretly intends to destroy him for his actions in Rockfort which cost the lives of thousands and has gone unanswered.

Both Rufus and Blaze join the main assault when Vigil summons them all, slipping into the Astrocarrier whilst the main attack occurs on deck. Rufus engages Deadboy whilst Blaze pushes on to try and complete her mission by reaching Pixel. Before she can reach her target, Bloody Mary intercepts her, having joined the Thunder Force during registration. The two battle each other within the Astrocarrier when neither will stand down. During the long battle, Bloody Mary’s Elder Core is damaged, causing her to go into a frenzy against Blaze. After avoiding the most serious of attacks, Blaze manages to outlast Mary’s frenzied state, before Bloody Mary herself passes out from exhaustion.

Blaze proceeds with her mission, but before she can get to her target, Pixel breaks free and attacks the Host who had been disguised as Supervisor Lylod the entire time, orchestrating a master plan to turn the heroes against each other. Pixel manages to break free of his captivity and destroy the Host, before turning himself in. Having been played by the Host, the heroes all fallback, and registration is cancelled with all the damage already done.

Blaze has since kept a low profile, disgusted by the treatment of heroes and also alarmed how Pixel has still managed to remain in captivity without answering for his crimes. Several reports have come in describing Blaze acting very aggressive and even attacking members of Raptor. Blaze considers both Raptor and Thunder Force has hostile enemies in the aftermath of the Freedom War, even after the cancellation of registration in the wake of recent events.

FREEDOM WAR (Alt. Future):-

Twenty years on from the events of Pixels turn, Blaze was one of the few heroes who managed to survive the initial onslaught. In the future, Blaze had two major encounters against Dark Pixel, though little is revealed about the first encounter, only that it cost Rufus his life when he sacrificed himself to save Blaze and many others, and that Blaze managed to defeat Pixel, humiliating him during his rise, but never having a chance to destroy him.

After the encounter, Blaze was left to defend a large number of refugees, setting up a hidden base in an old shelter that was named Safe Haven. Blaze spent several years supplying the unfortunate souls with food and water, as well as defending them from potential attacks, sending out raids against the Enforcer armies Pixel had formed. Her operations remained hidden for a long time, as many heroes and villains alike began to slowly fall one by one to Dark Pixel’s reign. Cross managed to encounter a band of Blaze’s men, returning them to her hidden Safe Haven where Blaze was now known as General Williams.

Cross tried to warn General Williams of an incoming assault from Dark Pixel, who after many years was finally beginning to close in on her location. The former Blaze was already aware of the coming attack, and fortunately had been formulating a plan to take her refugees to a safer place, away from Pixel’s reign of terror and hopefully hidden enough for the people to come up with a true counter attack against the Enforcers and Dark Pixel himself. When Blaze offers Cross to join her, he declines, having his own plans. The two separate after sharing a last drink.

Months later, Cross is declared dead, and Dark Pixel’s is only days away from discovering Safe Haven. Blaze forms a small force to take on the tyrant and his new Enforcers, taking the front of the defense herself. Whilst she takes a final stand against Dark Pixel, her refugees have long evacuated from Safe Haven towards the knew facility. Blaze’s final stand is nothing more than a distraction and a sacrifice, bringing in as many Enforcers to the battle as possible whilst the power source of Safe Haven has been set to detonate. Dark Pixel manages to discover the plan all too late, but not before mortally wounding Blaze during a final battle between the two.

Dark Pixel is barely able to retreat from the explosion, leaving all his new Enforcers to be destroyed in the large blast, once more humiliated by General Williams. Blaze is also within the blast radius when the power source finally goes off, causing a great explosion that can be seen by the fleeing refugees as they make their way to New Haven. Though certainly killed in the explosion, Blaze’s ultimate fate in this reality is left uncertain due to her ability to resurrect.

Quite surprising too, she hasn't actually been in that many challenges over the course of DU. XD

Thanks for the comment!

This is a great idea! Good to learn some more about Blaze and also a good way to put together all the adventures she went through in the DU so far

Heh, well this does only cover the Deviant Universe version of Blaze. An actual canon bio would probably be more enlightening to Blaze, though things are hinted at in this bio.

I just thought it would be a good means to keep up to date with characters in DU, to see what they did during collaborative events and what not. Glad you like the concept and I'm glad people still like Blaze

Nice! This is a good idea. Although I'm not sure adding another gallery like this would be necessary, since the DU character templates themselves can be edited to provide this information. It is a good idea though to have people update those profiles regularly as to the events that the character participates in within the universe.

Yeah, it probably would be easier to make an edited update on the original template images. I kind of just wanted a good excuse to make a Blaze picture... shamefully I think this is the first one I've made for her this year. Though I thought it might be a nice concept just to sort of have a wiki image of sorts that led to a full overview rather than having a mini bio on the original template leading into a full character summary.

It was just a concept I was playing with really.

Nice I like this style of bio page as it gives a nice overview of each character's back story and powers--you have a pretty large cast in your gallery so this is going to be really useful

thedude255 In reply to bryte-rockx [2013-03-14 14:08:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, thought I've only made a Deviant Universe related overview, not including actual canon Blaze events for the most part. I could make a canon version of Blaze's story summary along with other characters, but I might hold off on that idea and just stick to this as and when I make an entry for DU.

DoctorVorlon [2013-03-14 01:15:09 +0000 UTC]

Interesting idea.

Don't know how it would work with my characters though, as their backstories are only revealed in fractured dribs and drabs.

thedude255 In reply to DoctorVorlon [2013-03-14 14:07:03 +0000 UTC]

One way of doing it would be to fill in the spaces yourself. It's what I have done for this DU write up of Blaze, as not everything was featured or said during my entries that I've included in this bio summary.

It's all just for fun, so why not take a crack at it? If not, than fair enough.

ClockwerkSoul [2013-03-14 01:09:56 +0000 UTC]

Pretty cool. I'm thinking about doing this with a hero or two, but not sure which one to pick just yet.

Still, I understand and like the fact that you view this as an 'alternate universe' Blaze. I kinda view the same thing with my characters in the DU. It helps give me some ideas of which paths my characters can take if I ever try to make a real series with them.

thedude255 In reply to ClockwerkSoul [2013-03-14 14:04:42 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. You should go for it. Took me longer than I thought it would to get this done, but it got done in the end XD

And yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat as Kostmeyer when it comes to character continuity and Deviant Universe. I've decided to keep whatever occurs to Blaze in the Deviant Universe as strictly Deviant Universe rather than canon Blaze. There's a lot of her background and what not that I don't think is suitable for the vast world that DU has become, especially given how different so many characters are.
