Description Caught off guard as the deadly python dropped down from a tree above her, Kira would come to realize as the snake coiled around her body... It wasn't just her who knew the forest inside and out...

------------

Another manip… I’m finding it quite a pain in the backside to find good snake pics along with potential captives of some deadly coils to go with it. Still… I’ve managed to churn out another one, which I hope you enjoy.

To be honest I don't make manipulation pictures anymore. I use 3d software these days, though these images in the past got me started.

right on man. gotta start somewhere, though you have a talent where making the photo manipulations work. i hope you don't mind me watching, curious what else you put out.

It was just a bit of fiction really, hence the fake name. I made these years ago before I got into DAZ studio XD

Dude all your pieces are great! The only thing I would suggest is to add in shadows using the old lower opacity paint brush trick. Which version of photoshop are you using? I used to have shading problems myself until someone taught me the opacity trick using various layers. Just a helpful hint from a fan!

Paint Shop Pro 7 XD... But yes I have to admit I have no idea how to work shadows

Opps you use Paint shop? My bad. I can't read! Do you have an IM system? I can try to send you a copy of Photoshop if you wish.

In PaintShop Pro the work is the same with a new layer to add shadows. Unfortunately i can describe it, because i use the german version of PSP X, and did not know the english names of the functions, but the work with layers in different opacities is really the key to a lot of cool effects, like shadows or slime/saliva etc. and you can't destroy your original-image, because if something went wrong on your layer, simply delete the layer and start again.
If you want to work later further on the image, save all as a psp-file, so the computer save the image with all the layers seperately. If you are done, simply merge all layers and save as a jpg-file.

Yeah I know all about layers luckily. Tis how I built the image in the first place as there are about 6 different layers to this image . But yes there are tools which are pretty identical to what your suggesting so I'll have to try it out on some new images or old ones to experiment... thanks for the help . I'm sure this can hopefully improve the work a little bit more, though I'll prolly be hopeless at placing shadows XD

Its pretty easy my friend. Maybe I can walk you through what I do cause I use Photoshop 7 too.

Ok so when you are all done with the pre-work (puting all the elements in that you want where you want) create another layer. If you don't know how, what I do is clickon the Window tab on the toolbar (its between the View and Help tabs) scroll down to where you see layers. Click it and a new little window should open showing you the picture and layers. To add a new layer just click the icon at the bottom of that new window. The one just left of the trash can icon. OK you have a new layer!

So now that you have a new layer all you need to do is add the shadows. So click on the paint brush icon on the left there. Now look under the main toolbar, there should be another toolbar thats much wider. It has your paintbrush perameters. Look of the one that says Opacity. It should say 100%. Click and and a slide tool should appear or you can click it and change the percentage. For shadows I go from 50% for dark shades or 35% for lighter ones. Ok so paint in the shadows where you think they should go. For darker areas just add another coat of the paint brush and it should get a good set darker. For any overlaps or areas you don't think should have shade, just use the eraser tool to shape the shadows to your liking.

Thats how I shade usually. When you get really good yo can love the shading layers around under your others to add mid shades and light tones. But thats another lesson for another day. Hope that helps!
