I really like the lighting you chose! How do you achieve the brushy textured look, but still keep the main details sharp?
Do you have any tips for getting good contrast, as well?

Also, I'm hijacking that pegasus and you can't stop me.

im not so sure. im naturally messy so i tend to work in big strokes. as for the details, i just zoom in and do what i usually do so when you zoom out it seems super tight. i guess the point of contrast is suggesting form and draw focus. there are different types of contrast so figure which one you would like to use and make sure it works. for example, this image is a mixture of value, form and color contrast plus the psychological contrast of throwing a face in there. hope that helps
