I used a sheer fabric (chiffon I think) and stretched them over cardboard frames I hung inside. That way I could flip them open and closed (extremely nice feature since I didn't have to take my head off to drink or scratch my nose and I could cool down and get a better view that way). The fabric was pretty much see through except in bright sunlight and then the pupils are just glued on felt. ^_^
