depends on the shot. If its a pre-existing place like this then I use photo plates- kind of dumb not too for matte-based concepts, if its a made up world I start from scratch. Either way the devil is in the details

Wow, This is great. I can reflect on the girl in the front as me in university. The drawing gives an atmoshpere of loneliness and distance. This image makes me feel just as I feel now and then in a big city. Outside of it all. Just a spectator.
