Description
Further down the track, as Jack grows a little older, his bond with his marsupial friend, Matilda, continues to flourish. But at some point down the track, they momentarily get separated from each other and it takes a while before Jack finally manages to find Matilda, who happened to find a pack of roos on the plains and stayed with them for a while. But she also has some surprising news for Jack:
"I'm going to have a baby! I'll be a Mum soon!"
For Jack, the news makes him happy for his Docilean companion. Eventually, the time comes and Matilda goes into labour under the light of a full moon. Jack manages to help the kangaroo deliver...and the baby joey is a joyful blessing. Now a mother, Matilda decides to let Jack name her little girl...and he thoughtfully looks up at the moon shining brilliantly upon them...
That is how baby Luna comes into the family. Consistently bounding about and examining everything she can reach and touch, it doesn't take long before they find, just like Matilda, Luna has also inherited her ancestor Janice's Docilean abilities...she is now the newest generation. As a result, she is almost immediately able to speak human and understand their ways as she grows older.
And Luna absolutely adores her 'Uncle Jack', bounding up to him the moment she sees him and reaching up to cover his face in sweet roo kisses. Jack loves Luna just as much as he loves Matilda, and is more than happy to spend time with her when needed.
But Jack can't help but wonder...how is it that Luna was born with purple eyes compared to Matilda's blue?
And more interestingly...who is the father?
Will he ever find out?
