Description
As Starfleet was advancing its capabilities to fight the Borg, it was also natural for the Borg to adapt to its foes in a similar manner. The Borg Tactical Cube was even more powerful than the standard Cube, more protected, and a hundredfold more lethal.

Yeah, I finaly modelled the Tac Cube. It's not high res, but the armor covers most of the thing, so I cheated a bit

I think the tactical cube was actually a response to Species 8472. The ablative hull armor was probably to help absorb some of the energy from their weapons, considering Starfleet ships managed to be more durable in that regard, Voyager being the primary example. But it probably didn't enter service until after Species 8472 withdrew from the galaxy, and might have only been in the planning stages before Seven of Nine was disconnected.

We may be outgunned by this superior tactical Borg Cube, but the USS Kusangii is the only vessel within light years. This ship was designed for combat with the Borg. Alert fighter are ready and Quantum Torpedoes are armed. Ablative armor and regenerative shields will be tested. We have engaged the Borg.

Hopefully this vessel does well against theΒ Borg Tactical Cube;Β but maybe onlyΒ Voyager can takes so much of a beating from a Borg ship. Because there were ships in the Dominion War (DS9) that can barely withstand single phaser hit against Jem Hadar vessels.Β

Cube looks good, but what is that it's tractoring? Probably just my poor eyes (it's hard for me to see details in dark colors anymore), but it looks more like the Winnebago from Spaceballs than anything I recall seeing on Star Trek.Β Β
