I love both elements of Probert's model and the filming model they do a great job of blending the lineage.Β ButΒ I can only imagine how "Yesterday's Enterprise" would have looked if they had been able to create the Proberts's Ambassador-class filming as a model. Please don't get me wrong; this design has since become an icon herself, butΒ it's certainly an intriguing "what if."Β
But I love howΒ Β Phaeton99 Β givesΒ a non-canon historical account integrating Andrew Probert'sΒ AmbassadorΒ concept into the Star Trek universe as a contemporary class to the canon version.Β Star Trek: The Emissary and the Ambassador Β

I like the Probert design, but it looks too modern. More modern than the Galaxy class. To be honest, add some new spiffy nacelles, and you'll get a Galaxy successor much better than the Sovereign class!

Original Andrew Probert Ambassador concept design blows this out of the water. This is still pretty nice though.

The Probert Ambassador was better than the Galaxy-class.Β Eaglemoss Collectibles released a mini-model of the Probert Special "C" that is just the Probert Ambassador labeled as the ENTERPRISE C.Β You can go directly to their sit to order it and much more.Β Β

Well, it does, but IMHO it looks too modern, actually more advanced than the Galaxy class. The canon version fits better to the design lineage.

On that topic, would you ever consider modeling the concept ship? You've made great models of both show designs and fan designs, it would be cool to see the Ambassador Concept too. Maybe label it 'Ambassador Refit', modernized after the first Galaxy class ships launched.

Well, these appear to be a mix of the quite angular Excelsior pylons (front view) and the Galaxy Class pylon mounts (top view).
