Nice, nice, NICE shot here! In my imagining of things, the USS Kirishima, NCC-2008, first command of Captain Sesshomaru Touken. He commanded her from 2295 to 2315 and exploring the unknown was a welcome change to him from battling oppressors of all sorts of forms he had been doing over his long life up to this point.

Well, he'd been doing that for over a millennium and needed a break. Not that long of one, but at least a few years of doing something rather peaceful for a change, 'vacation work' if you wanna call it that.
Have to read up on what's known on the Cardassian War to further decide more on his timeline periods, but I envision he got back to kicking arse during the Cardassian War and showing the Cardassians why you better know damn well what you're getting into when you pick fights with Youkai. That sets up in my mind Capt. Sesshomaru becoming much like the a 'General Patton' of the Federation during the Dominion War. xD
