Description
My headcanon for this ship: With the development of the Galaxy class and the aging of the Ambassador class, Starfleet was in need of a stopgap measure. Using technology from the Galaxy class development project, and repurposing a handful partially completed engineering hulls of the tried-and-tested Ambassador class, the Niagara class command cruiser was born. Its three-nacelle configuration was meant as a stabilizing feature to some odd kinks of the Galaxy warp nacelle, something that was ironed out during the trial runs of the USS Niagara. Fast, large and unmistakably odd, the Niagara class quickly found its way into the heart of adventurous admirals who took them as their own personal flagships. One of them, the USS Princeton, lead the fatal assault on the advancing Borg Cube durign the Battle of Wolf 359.

Also, I think this concludes my reeeeeally long project of building the Wolf 359 Galacy kitbash fleet. Hoorrrayy
