Description
Refuelling stations are scattered throughout the Federation. Usually located near antimatter deposits and gas giants, they serve to resupply starships with fuel and other provisions, such as the veteran cruiser USS Palo Alto, a couple of years before the Third Man-Kzin War.I modelled this station after a retro toy from the 50's or 60's. If you're interested, I will release it.

I thought the station looked like it was based on the old Renwall/Revell "Space Wheel" (taken from an original design by Willy Ley, some of who's modeled designs illustrate his Wikipedia biography).

Trust me; I'm enough of a geek to recognise the Willy Ley designs. As "designing a space station goes", this is like using Michelangelo's David as a reference for a male nude.

Well, this ship is David Metlesits' first command. He got it along with the rank of Captain Lieutenant (Between Lt. Cmdr. and Cmdr.) and spent a year aboard her as the commander of a training mission. The Palo Alto crew often clashed with an Orion merchant prince named Elik, with whom they've developed a love-hate relationship (think Hondo from Star Wars Clone Wars / Rebels).

One question though. It looks like you can fit two, but not four at the same time. Maybe it is from the angle of the docking, but it looks like the sphere of the ship would block another ship from being able to dock on the sides.
