Exposing their stomachs and belly buttons like they want attention to be drawn to that sector of the body. And as I am so, sosososo-so-so aware of, if something or someone touches that area, the feeling can cause them to smile and laugh. Doubtful: Clyde's season 5 look has already been revealed and it's a massive change. Logically, the other characters will follow suit in getting new wardrobes.

Even though it probably won't happen, I hope Nickelodeon uses this particular design of Leni for Season 5 because it's perfect IMO.Β The clothes and earrings changing while the hair style and sunglasses staying the same is the perfect balance if you ask me.

That's good and all, but why exactly are they having a time skip this next season?

My guess is that they want to defy the norm. It's pretty much taken for granted that cartoon characters, despite all the developpment they get, don't age physically. (see The Simpsons for the most extreme case) The Loud House could be the chance to break that clichΓ© once and for all by having its characters grow up like they would in real life.
That, and they'd no longer have to recast Lincoln's VA everytime he hits puberty: just integrate it into the characters.
But the official reason? That's up to the crew to tell us...

I kind of saw it coming, TBH.
The Loud House has defied many of the usual cartoon conventions since its begining, so taking it further and having its characters grow up was the logical next step. They also confirmed Lori would have to make a final decision about whetever she's leaving for college or not and something tells me they won't go for a fake-out this time. (in other words; she could actually leave the show as a regular)
What else?
-Leni finally getting her driver license (this one's already rumored to be true)
-Luna taking her musical career to the next level (we might actually learn the name of her band!)
-Luan losing her braces (I know not everyone loses them in real life, but they could use it as a symbol of growing up)
-The latter 2, plus Lynn developping chests (Complains that Maggie has one even though she's younger will finally stop; Lisa will probably chalk it up to them being late-bloomers)
-Lily speaking and walking for the first time
-Rita publishing her book
-Vanzilla breaking down for good, forcing Lynn Sr. to buy a new car (maybe call it Vanzilla 2?)
-Both of them getting grey hair and going through a "getting old" crisis (awkward attempts to remain "young" ensues)
They ain't afraid of no shark jumping, because they know how many storytelling opportunities this will open. And if they play their cards right, season 7 could feature a similar time-skip, followed by season 9 ending the show with a bang.

She wouldn't be completely gone; merely reduced to cameos and returns for Holiday specials. Hell, maybe she'll be transferred to The Casagrandes, Worf* style.
* Worf is a character from Star Trek: The Next Generation. After the latter ended, he was transferred to the spin-off show Deep Space 9 where his story continued.
