Brief backstory: Raymond had kept a secret. His best friend, Tobias and his younger sister, Tatiana, are Mews. He had felt lonely at times, and Tobias is still a bit embarrassed of being a Mew, but it makes his sister happy. Because of this, Raymond wanted to turn into a Mew himself, so he could help his best friend and spend more time with him. He also did it so Tobias does not feel embarrassed of himself anymore. When the other Mews were not looking, he went to the room where all of the DNA is stored. He took one, and injected the DNA unto himself.

Brief Backstory: Cadbury is a pretty petite girl (5'2 omg I might be doing the wrong apostrophe thing), with the almost typical moe personality; she's tiny, easily embarrassed, and hyperactive, but can pack a punch and be a little hardheaded/brash from time to time (especially when Taro teases her playfully)~  Though she also has a thoughtful and almost rueful side of her, but since she's always trying to be upbeat she snaps out of it quickly.
She grew up in Rhode Island with Taro, and they go to the same small private school, but Taro moved to the fine arts program in high school so they don't really meet a lot nowadays except for lunch and after school, though they are best friends. At one point, Carly had a huge crush on him, but had to face that he only thought of her as a friend (he was super nice about it though). But they're still a great pair, and Carly still kinda has a crush on him in a way but is able to smile about it. Though, sometimes, she gets a little down because she feels like she's being left behind; Taro is super successful in his fine arts program but she's kinda like being average in school (though her grades are good). She's afraid that he'll meet somewhere else and they'll drift apart like most childhood friends- but still her hyper personality doesn't allow her to dwell on it for too long~
As a Mew, she's glad to have something that makes her unique now, but it can be stressful/pressuring sometimes.
Other: -For short, she's known as Cadbury <3 But just to get on her nerves, Taro calls her Carly even when she's in her Mew form.
-She looooves glazed donuts~ So Taro is sure to surprise her with some when they meet up in school from time to time~
-She has light brown hair and blue eyes as a human and likes to wear her hair in short pigtails with ribbons~
-Her favorite season is spring, and her favorite holiday is easter~ She still likes going on easter egg hunts or whatever spring festivity there is!
-Sometimes she can be a little of a tomboy, like she loves fantasy games from time to time~

Brief Backstory: Taro, on the outside, is that kind of fabulous egocentric/romantic/eccentric/outgoing guy, but really on the inside he's dedicated and committed to the people he cares about, especially towards his best friends, and will do anything for them. He is in his school's fine arts program for dance and a little bit of acting, and is very precocious and talented, so he is always having performances and stuff- but if Carly, his best friend/"little sister" (and ex-neighbor- they lived in the same neighborhood as little kids until his family had to move to a different neighborhood, and now he has to take the train to school) is in need of help, he'd skip a performance in a heartbeat. 
He and Carly actually became Mews when they went to a just-built Mew Cafe together (though of course they didn't know it was for Mew Mews); they were trying to order something when the cafe was attacked by aliens, and they were chosen at random to get the DNA injected to help defend the building. Which was pretty stressful considering they just became Mews, but they did it together <3 After that, they were obligated to work at the Mew cafe on the weekends (since school happens) as their undercover work. 
As a Mew, because he's so busy, he's not as serious about it as Carly is (because she doesn't have much to do in her real life, which also makes her feel like she's being left behind- sometimes she thinks that he's the only one growing up and moving on).
Other: -He's pretty tall, like 6'1.
-He has dark brown hair and light brown eyes.

Brief Backstory: She's lived in Canada all her life in the city and has a pretty nice job working for her aunt in a pet store. She takes care of the fishes and wants to be a marine biologist, which she's currently in college for. She met Charlie at the school they're both at- Charlie is a hard worker but because she's so hyperactive she has trouble studying, so they started at study buddies and became really good friends. Mo is way calmer but enjoys being around her extroverted friend (and developed a little crush on her) Charlie became a mew mew before Mo and hiding it was awkward and hard so she just. didn't. After she told Mo abt it and her mew mark Mo was like "OH I HAVE ONE OF THOSE???" and they became a duo~ Mo is the calm and sweet one, though she can be a little bit of a pushover, Charlie tries to make sure people don't take advantage of her. c:

Backstory:  She was supposed to be with tokyo mew mew, but was "rejected" along with three other girls. Unlike yewberry she wanted to protect the humans. After yewberry disappeared she took the role in being the new leader the the rejected mews.  Kuro is a very layback,but serious person when need be. She adores nature and all it has to offer to all the species who live there.

BIO: Scarlett is an annoyingly peppy person and upbeat constantly. She forces herself to be positive and upbeat constantly to try to hide her turbulent home life. Scarlett has had a rough childhood in a trailer park, living with her Aunt and Uncle. They took her in once Scarlett was removed from her parents home for drug use by the State. The Uncle is a lecherous creep that she tries to hide from for fear of him 'coming after' her. Once she becomes a mew, she depends on her missions and whatnot to escape the residence and it gives her a feeling of freedom. 

Given her personality, no one knows much about how her home life is and how dependent she is on other people for affection and the feeling of being accepted. She's secretly extremely emotionally fragile, but hides it under a bubbly happy personality.

She was taken out of her parent's home, and is currently in foster care until her sister turns 18 and gets legal custody of her. She looks up to her sister, Paiva, and currently wants to become a dancer like her... as well as an astronaut and the scientist who brings back the dinosaurs.

Brief Backstory: A prima ballerina at Alvin Ailey, Paiva is looked up to by all; however, she feels like she's not working hard enough and doesn't deserve all the fame she's received. Her parent's kicked her out after a bad fight, but they were both lost custody of their other daughter. She still keeps in contact with her younger sister, Sohalia, and plans to get custody of her after her 18th birthday. In order to help pay for some of her expenses and to save money for her sister, she's taken up a shady job at a nightclub nearby, waiting on customers and mixing drinks. There, she met Rosie (aka Roswell) and they became fast friends.

Currently she's fighting between becoming a public defender or a civil servant, because there's nothing she wants more than to help people whenever she can. She's quickly become one of the most popular sophomore's at her school, charming everyone with her wit and kindness. She adores her younger sister Lavender, and tries to be there for her as much as she can.

She's always on top of the latest beauty trends, and has become a nearly famous instagrammer with her fashion sense and her eye for things that are becoming popular. As the team leader of the mews, she's been working doubly hard and has so far been proving that she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to!

Brief Backstory: Lila is a slightly dense daydreamer and an airhead who sees beauty in everything. She likes to collect items that are somehow bug related and she has an antquarium (with ants in it ofc), she also has a hobby of taking care of snails she finds in the back yard of her family's house. She became a mew mew at the same time as the rest of her team, but it took her a long time to join them because she tends to keep herself far from trouble since she's always been very clumsy (before getting her mew powers anyway). She didn't realize anything strange was going on even tho she suddenly became quite agile, and just thought that she had become lucky. Lila likes all her teammates even if she's a little shy around them (she looks up to them and thinks they're cool so she wants to impress everyone but doesn't know how). She knows how to take care of herself both in and out of battle but has still become the "little sister" of the team.

Brief Backstory: Harriet has four siblings and she is the middle child of the family. She's very much an extrovert and absolutely can't stand being alone. She's athletic and does gymnastics and likes swimming as well. While she's strong and bends in a lot of directions, she's not very book smart and often needs extra help with her studies. Harriet is the jokester of the team, she mainly tells puns. She's not exactly bad at being a mew mew, but if they get in trouble she's the first one to get caught in a trap most of the time.

Brief Backstory: Joseph appears snobby, but he's actually quite the gentleman once you get to know him. He thinks first impressions are very important (and he will be very dramatic if he feels like he embarrassed himself). He could be called a clean freak, but the truth is he just likes to clean and having all things tidy and neat. He often ends up trying too hard no matter what he does and things don't usually end up how he had wished (and then he either makes a scene or sulks in some dark corner until someone drags him out).

Brief Backstory: Dean is the only child, and while his parents have spoiled him a little he's still humble. He likes putting on make up even tho he doesn't wear it every day. He also does make up tutorials and unboxing/loot videos on youtube and instagram as a hobby and sometimes (read: more than needed) features his three ferrets in his videos (also if any of his friends volunteer he's more than happy to make videos with them). Dean isn't very outgoing but he still loves to have fun with his friends. He'd rather watch a movie than read a book because he thinks reading is pretty boring. He feels like being a mew mew is empowering and loves being a super hero. If things go south he will probably panic but try to cover it up with telling himself that "good guys always win". He would like it more if the girls and guys would work as one big team instead of two separate ones but he doesn't complain.

Espresso and Taro are my faves ;u; I love Espresso's design, it looks so fancy and everything with poofy shorts is my fave.. and Taro is just looks fab and he's precious, I love him. ;u;

Brief Backstory: "Black Cat of New York" is all I can think. She'd be one of the few first Mews of America, having to keep hold of all of New York by herself. Normally a happy-go-lucky person, this of course takes a toll on her after a while, to the point family and friends are worried about her. Just when she thinks she's done dug herself a hole, a new mew shows up and saves her life! Though the two would still have to cover all of New York, teaming up instead of splitting the work load, they become their support systems. Much later on another two mews would join the fight, though they stay split; two taking the north side and two taking the south side.
