Jaquesha Furaha [] Valentina's second cousin. Without her he wouldn't be able to experience the world like he did. She's his perfect partner in crime. When they first met, Valentina didn't trust her, and it took a long time for him to warm up to her. But now they share a friendship that will continue on forever.

El Paso [] El Paso is probably the person (or... horse) Valentina is the closest to. He talks to her about everything, his feelings, and tells jokes to her. After she dies and is resurrected, she gains the power of speech and can finally talk back to him. They love each other very much, and understand each other more than anyone else.

Basili Mariam [] Valentina's glad he's dead. Basili was a predator. He knows he was foolish to play along with him, even if he knew Basili was bad and he was just doing it for food. He kind of misses the glamour provided when he was with Basili, but he despised that man with every acre of his being.

✦ Background:
○Valentina was raised by his father for the first 7 years of his life. His mother died from childbirth, and his father was neglectful at best. His first traits of lycanthropy started to manifest, and his father recognised this as his wife's powers that had been passed down onto him. Because of his mother's death, his father wanted to keep his distance because of the pain associated with losing his mother. One day, his father up and left him, leaving him in the house alone. Valentina, starving and cold, eventually found himself in a workhouse for 5 years. He lived off of watery soup and bread, facing abuse every day. When he turned 12, he had had enough and ran away, expecting to be chased down. But no such thing happened; soon he was gone from the workhouse, with no one even remembering him. He slept on the streets for a while, doing odd jobs that would earn him his meals. During that time he learned to ride a horse from a coach who would give him lessons in turn for working to feed and clean up the horses.

○The form represented in drawings. Valentina stole a loaf of bread from a bakers in Valkyrie Town. The owner caught him, but instead of scolding him gave him the bread and as much food as he wanted as long as Valentina visited him. This was 20-year-old Basili Mariam. During the visits Basili told Valentina he loved him and wanted him to run away with him. Valentina, seeing a chance for free food, played along but secretly despised him.
During this time he started having common transformations into his werewolf form, but found ways to stop or 'resist' it to a point where he had control over whether he switched or not.
Valentina started going to under-tack shows, shows where horses were raced in front of potential buyers. At one of these, a specific horse named Le Paso caught his eye. It was fast and beautiful, racing round the track in record speeds. However, at the end of its lap, it fell, its hind left leg contorted. Valentina, eavesdropping on the owner of the horse after the show, learned the owner intended to kill it the next day. He decided he was going to "save" (steal) the horse but was kicked by it after insulting it. Valentina then proceded to heal her broken leg, begrudgingly, which earned Le Paso's trust. Valentina, proud of his achievement, realized he needed riding equipment. He stole expensive bridles, saddles, and blankets and went back home, renting out a stable to keep Le Paso in. The next day he found pictures of him on posters, wanted for thieving. He was recognized on the street, and chased around the town before he arrived at the stable Le Paso was in and rode her out of town, never to come back to it again.
He soon met Jaquesha Furaha, his second cousin, who also possessed magic powers. Jaquesha told him about how he was a descendant of the Starmaker, and she was investigating the magic passed down onto their bloodline. Valentina, at first, didn't believe her, but after a brief battle recognized her goal. Jaquesha offered to help Valentina develop his then weak magical powers. Jaquesha taught Valentina bone manipulation and how to strengthen his magic butterflies. Jaquesha gave Valentina support and food, therefore Valentina had no need to pretend to be in love with Basili anymore. He cut him off.

○Basili was outraged at his treatment and started to stalk Valentina. Jaquesha, now best friends with Valentina, had found the location of his first cousin once removed and needed to pay him a visit. She promised Valentina she'd be back in two weeks. Valentina agreed. Jaqueshas trip ended up spanning over 2 months because of technical difficulties and getting wrapped up in a certain Casino's shenanigans. When she returned, Valentina was nowhere to be found. The town had been cast in a shadow of Valentina's Papillon Chaud, slicing through buildings, and even killing a young man named Basili Mariam. Jaquesha followed the source of the butterflies into the desert and found Valentina's dead body, butterflies spurting out of his chest.
Valentina, while running from officer Jacyl Shot, accidentally killed him while using his bone manipulation. Valentina was now wanted for murder. Trick Shot, son of Valentina's mother and lover of Jacyl, was determined to bring Valentina to justice. He put up posters for information and eventually came across Basili, who gave him Valentina's location in exchange for money. Trick Shot chased Valentina down that night and into the sunrise. He chased Valentina into the desert and shot him 5 times in the chest. Using his powers he got from Lavender, he buried the body.
Jaquesha's ability, Clairvoyant Roses, binds Jaquesha and the soul of a person she feels personally responsible for's death. Both Le Paso and Valentina were bound to her, and their spirits were pulled from the Starheaven and down back to Earth. Valentina's Papillon Chaud was stopped by this, and the butterflies dwindled out. Jaquesha, heartbroken, retired from magic. At the age of 60 she was the mayor of a small town.
Valentina's relatives were uncovering their magic powers and the force of the magic on the planet was awakening a former nemesis, the nemesis of the successors of the Starmaker. His name was the Toymaster and he was spread across the galaxy after his defeat. Valentina didn't use his magic again until 1999, and Jaquesha started having dreams about the Toymaster talking to her. Due to her ability she knew all about him, and she realised he may be coming back. Valentina and Ismaaciil (the other soul bonded to Jaquesha) begged for her to start rounding up their magic-adept relatives, but she refused due to past experiences. During this time, Valentina also had problems controlling his lycanthropy and was forced to transform multiple times.
However, it wasn't until her dearest friends appeared at her door one day, cloaked in shadow that she realized she needed to fight the Toymaster. Valentina dealt with the possessed friend and Jaquesha departed on a worldwide journey to round up all of her relatives. They learned a lot in the time and Valentina started to use his ability more, weakened after years of lying dormant. Jaquesha eventually gathered up all she could find who had found their magic powers. They fought against people the Toymaster had possessed.
One day, Valentina entered Jaquesha's room. The Toymaster was being attracted to the Starmaker's magic, and so, he thought, if they got rid of the magic on Earth, he would float off into space again. He proposed this idea to Jaquesha, who agreed they would use it as a last resort.
One member, Pharamekeia, had the ability to pull themselves and anyone else into their or someone else’s dream. With everyone assembled, they all traveled into Jaquesha’s dreams where they faced the Toymaster, who declared that he was one step away from gaining physical form, awaiting just one more family member to gain magic. They tried to fight against him, but the Toymaster had abilities similar to mind control and soon they found themselves fighting amongst each other, half of them too weak to resist the Toymaster’s mind control. Jaquesha roped all the family members together, stood in front of the Toymaster and told them to kill everyone there. Valentina, Le Paso, Jaquesha and Ismaacil embraced for the last time. He killed every single relative.
What he didn’t understand is that since they were gone, the magic was gone too. The last trace of the Starmaker’s magic had been erased from the planet and therefore he had no negative magic energy to live on. He was scattered across space once more.
Valentina, Ismaaciil and Le Paso were freed from Jaquesha's Clairvoyant Roses and went to the Starheaven made by their descendant, the Starmaker.

○Valentina, after his soul was freed from Jaquesha, went to the Starheaven and met the rest of his bloodline, including his mother. The next of the generation will never inherit magic, and will live normal lives. Everything is now as it was meant to be.

✦ Personality:

○Valentina, on first inspection, is kind of an asshole. He's stubborn, rude and selfish, doing anything to get his way. Valentina blames the things wrong in his life on other people because he knows that if he doesn't, it means its all his fault, and that's scary. Valentina is defensive, quick to act and quick to anger.

○Valentina is a master of trickery and feels no remorse cheating people out of their possessions, stealing food and money . He does, however, have a sense of empathy, focused on those in the same situation as him- the abused, the poor, the homeless, those in pain. He'll flip a coin their way now and again, and take pity on the suffering and seek to end their life quickly.

○Once he sets a goal, Valentina sticks to it stubbornly, putting morals and ethics aside to see it to the end. He won't hesitate to harm, cheat or even kill to achieve his goals. He sees law and rulers as corrupt and power-hungry, making his own rules based on his own morals.

○Valentina has a fear of men in general (especially older ones.) Both of the significant male presences in his life were abusive which has caused Valentina to have a stark distrust of males, especially foxes, being that both his dad and Basili were foxes.

○He feels responsible for the Earth. He proposes dying to end the Toymaster (in backstory) because he feels that he was born into the duty to protect it and while he doesn't like it, he isn't afraid to die. He has a deep respect for his ancestors after hearing about their backstories from Jaquesha, though he still doesn't fully trust the Starmaker because of her position of power.

○Valentina isn't all bad. He has a sarcastic sense of humor, and once you push through his asshole cover he's a protective and loyal friend, only being disturbed in his determination by his friends being in danger. Deep down, he still is just a boy who has been stripped of his childhood.

○Light Butterfly- Used Act 1 onward. Valentina summons butterflies that act on his will. These butterflies are made of light, yet have mass like physical objects. He can use these to daze, blind, cut or batter. These butterflies, when heavily damaged or simply cut through, will disentegrate and Valentina will have to regenerate energy to summon them again. They can also be used in everyday situations.

○Bone Healing- Used Act 1 onward. The ability to heal broken/fractured/dislocated/otherwise damaged bones. He does this by holding his hand to where the bone is and using his magic to shift/seal/etc the bone. This, however, is still painful, and to successfully repair the bone the person with the injury must maintain consciousness. This process usually takes only a few seconds.

○Bone Manipulation- Used Act 2 onward. This ability allows Valentina to manipulate the bones of his enemies and himself. He can use this power to essentially "puppet" any opponent. It also allows him to break/fracture/dislocate/otherwise damage bones. This is very painful, and can only be used on conscious people. Valentina's right hand must be at least 1" away from the bone he wants to manipulate, and he can only manipulate one at a time. This gives him a very sore head for around a minute or two after it's performed.

○Papillon Chaud (song linked)- Used Act 3 onward. To use this ability, Valentina must be bleeding (heavily) and have a considerably large open wound. Valentina produces butterflies inside the wound, and they burst out (damaging Valentina) in a giant red and bloody mass. The butterflies are out of Valentina's control and flap forward mechanically. They slice anything they touch and reflect any damage brought towards them, only being destroyed when Valentina regains conscious.

○Lycanthropic Bloodline- Imbued in his blood, running through his veins, is something wild, yet restrained. Valentina can call upon the wolf inside, transforming him into his anthro wolf form, however giving him limited control over his actions. Valentina has mastered control over his lycanthropy and can choose when to switch.
