Even tho I really admire Master TheGerjoos' artwork, Adam Hughes' style is still one of a kind. Definitely one of TheGerjoos' approaching methods. No offense tho ... A good way to go, Joooooos ....

You have to admit it that Hughes IS the first "inventor" of such style. Everyone, I mean, EVERYONE, with such 'typical' artwork style, BUILDS from there. So pay some respect for the old man, will ya!

I think this conversation is kind of going nowhere, with this kind of attitude. I see that Indonesian young comic generation went NOWHERE because of it, in the past few years. Only a few, and I mean, a FEW Indonesian artists that made it out internationally, such as Master Gerjoos, because they learn from established artists like Hughes and the others, and develop their own style from there.
Bangun sih boleh2 aja, kasih semangat sih boleh2 aja, tapi jangan sampai terlalu berlebihan. So let's just fix just that kind of attitude, and start building from the point other people have started. That ... is my 2 cents!

This style looks more Al Rio than Hughes. If there was more to the conversation sorry, language barrier and all. As good as it is, I don't see a lot of Hughes in this work.
Secondly, Hughes gets a lot from older generation artists and applies it to his work, like Rockwell and Alphonse Mucha. If you want to credit someone with "inventing" the style, Mucha would fit the bill.

Style Adam Hughes adalah salah satu art style yang disukai orang. Itu benar. Gw juga setuju. Tapi gambar2 buatannya bukanlah yang paling bagus / keren hingga dijadikan standard (tolok ukur). Mohon lu gak salah paham...

Bukan itu juga maksud saya.
Bagus atau tidaknya suatu gambar itu tolok ukur yang relatif, terlebih di dalam dunia industri perkomikan. Umumnya orang bilang kalau artwork pakem Joe Madureira keren, ada lagi yang bilang kalau pakem punya si Alex Ross tuh superb, ada juga yang klaim kalau Jim Lee masternya gambar komik. Ada lagi orang yang mendewakan pakem artwork macam Tim Sale. Dan seterusnya.
Namun, umumnya seorang artist berangkat dari pakem artwork artist yang paling mereka sukai. Misalnya Mas Gerjoos ini dengan Adam Hughes (sebenarnya saya kok lebih merasa bahwa artwork mas Gerjoos ini lebih ke arah 'vibe' J.G. Jones!). Beliau berangkat dari sana dan mengembangkan style beliau sendiri. Sepertinya kurang lebih begitu. Itu umumnya lebih membantu pemahaman mereka tentang trik seorang artist dalam menggambar sesuatu. Tidak selalu begitu, namun umumnya seperti itu.
