Description This image was created using VUE 2014 Complete and comprises of 55.5 billion polygons @ 37 hours 38 minutes render time.

The Emerald Forest, one of the few remaining fertile lands of Teslsrane to survive the Dragon Blight of 139GotroTunas(GT). These forests have been protected by the Telsarian Guard since those dark days where Plagued Dragons roamed the skies and laid waste to hundreds of acres of land every day for 7 years.
Few are allowed to enter the forests with the Her Royal Highness Valenta III of Teslarane’s express and personal permission. Those who are allowed to enter may only do so under strict rules and observation. Ecologists are the usual brand of soul allowed to enter the forests, to study and devise ways to help nurture the growth of the lands around the forests in the hope that one day a cure for the Blighted Lands can be healed and regrown to their former glory.

Due to the very nature of the Blighted Lands, nothing beyond grass and wild flowers will grow. Studies have been temporarily successful, the Blight seems to adapt no matter what methods are used to counteract its poisonous qualities.
One day the Kingdom of Telsarane will find a way to cure itself of the Blight and thus end its dependency on imported agricultural produce of which it spends much of its coffers quarried from local mines.

This scene was relatively simple to put together, a few metablobs formed the riverbed, and dry lands where I could grow the dense moss ecosystem and place a couple of trees edited within and exported from The Plant Factory.
The trees even have their own mossy ecosystem to try and break up the emptiness of the bark.

The reason for the high polygon counts is largely due to the moss. I wanted an extremely dense and fertile appearing forest so I went with a 100% dense moss ecosystem. It might look a little unrealistic but I went for a fantasy setting and I’m very happy with the way it came out!

Photoshop was also used for typical colour balancing and vibrancy toning.

Thanks for viewing, all constructive criticisms welcome!
