So I vanished for a bit but that's nothing new.What IS new is that dank hella woke swagalicious # yolo announcement of that new company, Deck Nine, taking on a three-episode "Life is Strange" prequel, dubbed "Life is Strange: Before the Storm". It follows the story of Chloe as you forge her relationship with the mythical Rachel Amber character. The dialogue in the preview seemed just as endearingly-angsty as in its predecessor, so I'm on board all the way. I don't take the game super seriously, so I know that -- even if Deck Nine messes it up -- I'll still get engrossed in the world of Arcadia Bay, because my interest in "Life is Strange" has always been of a somewhat masochistic nature, which then translates to the sadistic nature reflected in my parodies.
In other words, I love "Life is Strange" because of its flaws, so Deck Nine can't fail me...
Like Telltale did...
Tom's usual demeanor melts away into a stare, blank and unresponsive, as if focused on one single, distant, traumatic moment in time. His lip quivers slightly at a thought that emerges from his past like the Beast from the sea of the Christian apocalypse, or "InFamous 2". He whispers something suddenly, but it's too quiet to hear, so as to avoid spoilers. You try to shake him, to bring him back to the present, but his skin is cold to the touch, as though the thought that haunts him so vividly has an indisputable and insidious presence that may very well threaten life itself. After the most tense twenty seconds of your mysterious encounter with Tom, he suddenly screams and smashes his head on a nearby wall, after which he moans and blinks and appears to be finally awake once more. As he tries to laugh off the experience as some kind of joke, you notice the smallest patches of frost have crystallized on his skin, and his eyes carry a darkness that makes your insides crawl with a mixture of pity... and inexplicable terror.

Somebody told me that DONTNOD, in addition to developing their new "Vampyr" game, is also still developing an actual sequel to "Life is Strange", but I haven't confirmed that for myself. Anyone know about that?
Also, Chloe's original voice actress, Ashly Burch, has been part of the "Before the Storm" project as a writer and a consultant on Chloe's personality, but announced on Twitter that she will unfortunately not be reprising her role as Chloe due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

I'm kind of maybe sort of looking forward to Before the Storm. I don't know. It could go either way, because I really hated Chloe in the original season, but there were glimpses of characters moments that, if fleshed out more, could have lead to me liking her more. So, Before the Storm could convince me to like Chloe as a character, or it could make me hate her even more. Either way, it'll be interesting I guess.

Ugh no the last episode of the walking dead was awful. I really hate how they've portrayed Clem, and the actual storyline was a mess, and MY GOD was cable of anything other than wanting to screw with Javi? She was basically the game's version of Lori.
I'm not getting my hopes up for this LiS story, it's a 3 part episode so it seems like it'll be really rushed? What else can they add to the story that we don't already know about? It seems like this is just going to be Chloe and how she became a brat in the original games, but I guess I have a bias since I'm not much of a fan for her.

To answer your question, I've always given Telltale the benefit of the doubt, because the might be my biggest inspiration as a writer. Luckily, the stuff they got right was always amazing to me, and more than made up for whatever they got wrong in my eyes. However, the way they handled elements in a certain game (which I will not name here, to avoid spoilers for the wandering eye) finally broke my faith in a way I never thought they could. It was like finding out in your late teens that your loving parents had started murdering good and innocent people. It was rather traumatic. Sorry about avoiding specifics, but I hope that vague answer is satisfactory.

Dontnod released a video about a month ago announcing that the original team were working on LiS2 (the video is pretty brief but seems to be mostly to preempt any confusion the E3 announcement of Before the Storm might cause). Video can be found here: youtu.be/YoVni44YBtE
That said, Dontnod have consistently said so far that any sequel would not feature Max/Chloe so how (or even if) it'll link to the first game is uncertain.
