What was Jet doing the whole time between evacuating Earth at the end of the war and heading to Egypt?

Helping Torbernite setup the Insurgency.

Ah the good old Executioner's Sword.  For when the guillotine just isn't personal enough, and the axe isn't particularly sharp.

It was for a more honorable death. With the axe, the victim is bent over and slain like an animal. With the sword, they're at least dying on their knees. Executions of royals prior to the guillotine were done by sword.

Ah I see now, interesting. You're telling me this sword predates guillotines? Also interesting.

Wait, they actually made gunblades back in the day?

TheGraffitiSoul In reply to qwerty2999 [2018-05-14 04:29:36 +0000 UTC]

They weren't particularly effective but yeah, they did.

Wh-- no, I meant does this here gunblade have all those drawbacks listed out by Max?

If held by a human yes. With Jet's inhuman strength, the off-balance issue wouldn't be a problem.

I doubt she'd be better at the reloading problem as it's still an antique black powder one shot pistol

TheGraffitiSoul In reply to Metal-Max1991 [2018-05-16 04:20:22 +0000 UTC]

Actually this is a pinfire gun, not a flintlock. Pinfire guns use a pinfire cartridge to propel the rounds. Basically an obsolete precursor to the modern cartridge ammunition and in the case of this sword, it's a 6-shot revolver and much faster to reload than than a black powder firearm.

yeah gunblades were notoriously awesome but impractical. Instead of getting a balanced two in one weapon, you got a heavy off balance sword and a pistol with short range and insane reloading time even if you're a trained soldier
