As cool as it sounds, a Baryonyx seems to be a more likely candidate

Yes, the most prominent Dino in JP3.

There was another group of pteranodons on the island. See the ending of The Lost World Jurassic Park

They recently confirmed that he killed the juvenile from TLW:JP...

But yeah, poor guy gets hate due to JPIII, or as some people call it, "Dinosaurs Eat People: The Movie".

Actually, you misread. It was quoted with "jokingly". Therefore, Junior may just have a role in the next two films.

Holy crap, wow!

Anyways, I wish he could return in another Jurassic World movie as a major anti-hero, similar to Tyrannosaurus and Mosasaurus.

Where did they say that?  Also, four years and the baby grows that fast?  I don't buy it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

StarvedSkull In reply to JW-Gojifan [2015-11-02 07:09:36 +0000 UTC]

Well actually, with a theropod as big as a Tyrannosaurus, they had to pack on 5 pounds of overall mass per day, meaning they'd be 5-7 tons in only about half a decade. How do we know this? If we cut through a single bone, we can see there are rings, and each ring represents a full year of growth (much like a tree). So by that logic, A Spinosaurus becoming a full-grown adult in a matter of 4 years wouldn't actually be that preposterous.

JW-Gojifan In reply to StarvedSkull [2015-11-03 00:00:35 +0000 UTC]

Well from what I could gather from scientists, it could take about 10 years for a Tyrannosaurus to reach sexual maturity.

A few videos probably have all the theories and evidence.

Also, I don't mind if it sounds like bullcrap to you.

JW-Gojifan In reply to PCAwesomeness [2015-07-26 01:37:20 +0000 UTC]

I never said it was bullcrap to me.  I just don't see how the infant could have gotten that big in just four years time.  I'm not trying to be a know-it-all or anything but the entire third film took place on another part of Isla Sorna, not to mention Tyrannosaurus did look after their young for quite a while.

ToothlessandHiccup In reply to PCAwesomeness [2015-08-01 00:04:26 +0000 UTC]

The way I view it it was a fully grown or near full grown male. PERHAPS the same one from The Lost World. It's green so it's definitely a male, but when I see the size it screams fully grown. But then again we never truly learned the gender of the Spinosaurus.

slowusaurus [2015-07-04 02:49:10 +0000 UTC]

Maybe it's just me, but what if InGen's Spinosaurus was a prototype of the Indominus rex? It never appeared or mentioned on InGen's dino list and not to mention the Spino's extremely aggressive and persistence behavior on chasing down the humans. Plus, the JP3 Spino looked like the original creature had been spliced with T. rex DNA which explains the reinforced snout and long legs.

acepredator In reply to slowusaurus [2015-07-16 12:26:04 +0000 UTC]

The snout of the JP Spinosaurus is actually less robust than that of an actual Spinosaurus (though not by much). The other theropod DNA just gave it the long legs.

Maybe heron DNA? Longer legs, less robust head.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

slowusaurus In reply to acepredator [2015-07-16 15:15:36 +0000 UTC]

Nah, the JP Spinosaurus had a crocodile-like head: robust and strong when compared to the snout of the real deal which resembled the thin fragile snout of the gharial.

I think they gave it some crocodilian DNA for the snout. Probably from a saltwater croc.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

acepredator In reply to slowusaurus [2015-07-16 15:25:26 +0000 UTC]

The real deal doesn't look like a gharial (it's an almost exact match for Redondasaurus, however), nor is it nearly as weak. The JP version actually looks closer to a gharial's jaw than the actual jaw.

Suchomimus tenerensis had bite forces similar to an alligator, now scale that up to a Spinosaurus.

slowusaurus In reply to acepredator [2015-07-16 15:36:08 +0000 UTC]

Still weaker when compared to the JP Spinosaurus or the T. rex.

And I don't know why you call this public.media.smithsonianmag.co… less robust than this s6.postimg.org/8r6929g9t/Spino…

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

acepredator In reply to slowusaurus [2015-07-16 15:44:23 +0000 UTC]

Still enough force to kill both (or itself). Just saying the Spinosaurus crushing the T. rex neck isn't as far-fetched as it seems.

Because the back of the skull (the area with the eyes, jaw musculature and braincase) is thinner in the jP version than the real version?

slowusaurus In reply to acepredator [2015-07-16 15:48:06 +0000 UTC]

The front half of the real one would still snap if it bites a Rex's neck...

acepredator In reply to slowusaurus [2015-07-16 15:50:32 +0000 UTC]

If it was that weak it wouldn't be able to bite an Onchopristis either.

The hands were the killing tools while the jaws held the prey for them.

I actually liked spino, granted I threw a giant fit when he/she killed the t-rex but as the movie and years went by spino and its relatives turned into my favorite group of dinosaurs and I wish he/she was in Jurassic world

TheGreatestLoverArt In reply to Kaijuking54 [2015-07-02 18:10:44 +0000 UTC]

I was sad when the suchomimus didn't appear in Jurassic World, but the Spino skeleton made up for it a little.

I guess spino left a bad taste in people mouths for not only it but other spinosaurids

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

acepredator In reply to Kaijuking54 [2015-07-16 12:27:18 +0000 UTC]

Which is unfortunate. People just love to bash spinosaurs and belittle them for eating tiny fish (which they didn't-the fish were HUGE).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kaijuking54 In reply to acepredator [2015-07-16 18:37:12 +0000 UTC]

I think I've heard from somewhere that spinosaurus ate fresh water sharks as well, but technically they could just pull other dinosaurs into rivers and drown them in a manner similar to that of crocodiles if they felt like having a more hearty meal

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

acepredator In reply to Kaijuking54 [2015-07-17 01:11:59 +0000 UTC]

Both of that would be correct.

TheGreatestLoverArt In reply to Kaijuking54 [2015-07-03 00:52:33 +0000 UTC]

And that's why Rexy destroyed the spino skeleton in Jurassic World. It was reference to the 3rd movie.

frankly stuff like that in movies is like beating a dead horse like the "fight" between Godzilla and zilla in final wars, whether one likes it or not it happened and cant be changed

Spinosaurus would have easily been snapped by the T-Rex!

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

ropen7789 In reply to Selinelle [2015-07-16 03:00:54 +0000 UTC]

that depends on the environment. on land, spinosaurus would definitely loose from its stubby legs. in water though, it could drown t-rex
