This picture is dedicated to who's love for Miaka has enhanced my own appreciation of the character!
Miaka (the priestess of Suzkau) is showing off the Shi jin ten chi sho, the book which takes her to the magical world in which she meets and falls in love with her beloved Tamahome (and a few others fall in love with her!). I'm thinking about doing the other priestess in a similar fashion as this one. I hope you all like the picture!!

Thanks! Miaka has that effect, I feel she has the warmest personality of all the priestess's (save face for byakko though, since we dont know her yet! )

Most definitely, Miaka is one of my most favorite character ever in this lifetime!!! She has more character that one would expect. People just couldn't look pass her childish behavior that almost always meant for comic relief than anything... And god, she's only 15!

Either way! No better to start the set with Miaka!!! So cute!!! i love her big smile and the well drawn eyes! Woot! Level up!

Totally agree with how some people have a hard time looking past her comedy relif characteristics. And really she didnt display them all the time (a quarter way through the book she had really matured, and wasnt as goofy as she was in the begining.)
We cant all be serious in life, and Miaka shows us that life can be fun!

When I first saw Miaka and her comedic antics, I loved her then and there. I dunno why a lot of people can't just stop criticizing her. I'm sure if FY was real and they ended up being in Miaka's shoes, they would have acted the same way or even worse. They don't take account the circumstances. Of her being saved a lot, I mean, she's from the modern world. Stuff like those don't happen so she can't just learn to adapt to it spot on. She's basically just a child. Oh gawd, I can go on and on...
I think what they should do is also read the second part of FY. Or watch the OAV. They'll be surprised...

I think all the hating on Miaka has something to do with "I'll hate it because its popular" kinda thing. Miaka being the Main character, (and the fact that there are tons of other characters that fans can fall in love with)recieves alot of heat because she is beloved by the characters in the book. Maybe like an envy type of thing?
I dunno, but if someone where to be in the situation that Miaka had to deal with, Im sure having the conviction to travel and endure the hardships she had to (like going blind?!) would be impossible!

There you go! I think people are just jealous of her! HAHA!!!! I don't know why people can't see it but Miaka is plain admirable! I love seeing her grow as the series progresses. Especially the part from the OAV! (Second part of FY). That's so awesome!!!!

I think Watase is excellent in showing how her characters grow from the begining of a series to the end. Miaka being innocent and naive to strong and understanding. Aya was a pushy brat to being serious and forgiving. Its pretty hard to be able to show that kind of character devlopment in a seemless fashion that Watase is capable of doing!

And she did it so effortlessly. Before you know it, everybody had changed. It is only when you look back you actually realize it... There's so much depth in their character and the readers really need to pay attention or else, they'll be left behind...

I need to re-read the series myself as well! Its been at least a year ... if not longer (I thing longer though!) I got the last Rinka issue in like two or three weeks ago with the newest chapter (35 or 34 i cant remember) and its fast approaching the ending! I havent read the translation yet( I've been super slacking on my reading duties) but just looking at the pictures, you can tell stuffs about to hit the fan!

Perhaps it'll end in Volume 12 or 13? I haven't even read chapter 35! And I know that chapter had a climactic event!!! I never found a scanlation :c And because I'm stubborn, I refuse to read the chapter alongside a chapter summary... I am picky like that.. HAHA!!!
