I...can not get over Zach's use of facial expressions in this scene. Just...wow. I have never been so wowed by an actor before...an actor I swore to hate before I even saw the movie

The look on his face speaks VOLUMES.....He just looks so grateful to feel something other than pain. To be touched by someone who loves him. I'm sure he's eternally grateful that Uhura insisted he place her in the Enterprise.

Zachary Quinto's acting in this role was phenomenal. I still can't get over it.

I freaking adore his expression in this scene; it makes me think he really loves her(that and my secret desire for Spock to be with someone other than Chapel).
After I got over my whole "This new movie will crush my soul with its blatant disregard for everything holy in the TOS universe" I discovered that I LOVE this Spock, and that's saying something because I can be pretty hard core when it comes to Star Trek TOS.

OMQ yes, I absolutely love that entire scene. The acting put into it...is just freakishly magnificent.
"This new movie will crush my soul with it's blatant disregard for everything holy in the TOS universe" is EXACTLY how I felt, especially in regard to Zachary Quinto. I absolutely adore Spock, and when I first saw pictures of Zachary, I just about had an aneurysm. And then I actually saw it...and it completely blew me away. Especially Zachary!

Oh same here in regards to Zachary Quinto playing Spock.
Even though McCoy is my number one guy in TOS (so it took some serious bracing to deal with Karl Urban possibly sucking him up), I just couldn't stand the thought of someone not playing Spock to the fullest extent (and don't even get me started on the whole Kirk thing...I could go on about that for eternity!), but he just blew my mind.

Haha, indeed! When I saw pictures of Karl, I thought "Wow, he looks so much like Bones, he can't possible be a good actor."

I know! Even though he's epic in Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Riddick, this is Star Trek and I was like "He better do a good job!!" and he totally did.
