Today I come to you with reworked flag of New England from 2nd American Civil War from Kaiserreich universe. All credits to Kaiserreich devs. Enjoy

The northeastern corner of the United States, New England found itself in a rough position in the Second American Civil War, as they back the federal government but is trapped behind CSA lines. Canada may use the opportunity to occupy New England, bolstering their Eastern defense against hostile American forces. However, the American locals resent the Canadian occupation. As such, Canada can grant New England independence as an Entente satellite state, creating an independent New England.

New England claims to be the True American Government, but has very little legitimacy both within and without. With the Civil War factions still eyeing on New England, New England's dreams of becoming legitimate may be a difficult one.

Martial Pacifist: The general motif. While New England would rather be left alone and let the other players of the Civil War kill themselves off, it's not afraid to defend itself from anyone trying to drag them into the conflict.

Non-Indicative Name: As a nation, New England also includes the territory of Upstate New York, which while culturally similar to New England has never been considered part of the region. In-game, Upstate joins with New England primarily because it would be otherwise vulnerable to the CSA.

Puppet State: New England is a Canadian puppet, created from a Canadian occupation zone, but can develop beyond this, becoming a truly independent nation.

Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: New Englanders would rather not have anything to do with the Civil War, and just want to be left alone.

We ARE Struggling Together: New England's status as an Entente Puppet State isn't lost on the locals. They're generally content with Canadian arms and reinforcements only to a point, and depending on how the focus tree, could either set off on their own path independent of their benefactors or return to the British Crown.

In the midst of America's turmoil, the patriarch of the Kennedy political family leads a group of prominent Yankees who invited Canada to annex the territories of New England and Upstate New York.

Allohistorical Allusion: In OTL, Kennedy was ambassador to the United Kingdom. In this timeline, he's still certainly conducting diplomacy with the British Crown.

Opportunistic Bastard: His actions can be read this way, as he ends up governing New England if Canada releases it.

Realpolitik: The other way his actions could be read. The Northeast really doesn't have much hope of escaping a CSA conquest without outside intervention.
