I think what makes me not like Pearl is how she looks so grumpy all the time, even when she isn't trying to. Her eyes are in a constant slightly angry position.

Pearl is...alright. I don't hate her, but her character just comes across as Chihuahua Syndrome; having a big attitude to make up for her small size. Marina comes across as less of a trope by comparison. She also looks the part of a celebrity pop start where Pearl's over-exaggerated forehead makes her appear, well, cartoony. I know that seems like a crazy thing to say given that Splatoon is focused around squid/humans that go around playing paintball to save the world, but over-exaggerated features don't exactly fit Splatoon's aesthetic. It's why you only see them in games and shows where everything is a little off and weird; they fit there; just not here.

You should. Everyone should. It allows people to be completely horrible monsters and laugh about it, taking things that would normally be controversial (such as racism) and lets people see them for what they truly are: a joke.

My two theories on this:
1) They rushed it, so they can quickly introduce Off the Hook for the first time to everyone.
2) They didn't finish it, and haven't had the time to update it after the Global Testfire release.
