Description
When I was going through my gallery of older artwork and looking for ideas, I found something interesting.
A few years ago in 2014, an old ex-friends group of mine had come up with the idea to all create our own God characters.
What I created was an Egyptian Cat lady named Aziza Cloecatra, and I only even drew her twice.
I think I had more plans for her, but I think I was worried about using up too much of my yellow colored pencils.
So she was shelved for a long while, until now.
I wanted to make drastic changes by making her a shortstack cat and making her black.
Yes, I know it's a bit too late to cash in on the 2nd wave "Ankha Hype" but that's not going to stop me from trying.
For a traditional artist like me, black is a color that is the hardest to work with.
You either mix the black with shades of grey, or you use black markers.
I picked the latter and was very careful to make sure to "highlight" some parts of Nenet's body, so they don't blend into each other as one black blob.
Which, I think, turned out well for Nenet.
Despite this picture being 95% marker, this picture took quite a long time to finish.
I had to make sure to double-coated the black to make it darker, as well as doing the same for the yellows to make them brighter.
But after all was said and done, I'm really happy with the way Nenet turned out.
I have forgotten how much fun it was to design Egyptians characters.
I plan to keep Nenet around for some shortstack fun, because black cats are just fun to have around.

Bio:
In the arid deserts of Kemet lays an infamous thief that was known to break into any tombs or crypts.
This thief was known as “Lady Swift Paws” but her real name was Nenet Nader.
Not much was known about her past, but it’s rumored that she was born into a poor family of farmers in Kesosa Valley.
Life was rather miserable, working in the blazing sun all day to harvest semi withered crops and sell them for barely anything.
Nenet had sticky fingers as a child, often stealing things for herself and her family.
She mostly stole food, wine, and jewelry to sell at the pawn shops to get some decent coin.
Her parents didn’t approve of her antics and forced her to return whatever she stole.
However, Nenet’s parents would keep the money for themselves, while Nenet herself was punished with extra farm work.
Wanting a better life and sick of her parents, Nenet would run away from home at the age of 10.
She would join a caravan of thieves called The Scavengers, that would masquerade as merchants during the day.
The leader, Shahid, would teach Nenet how to use daggers to defend herself.
However, the most important thing Shahid taught Nenet, was how to use her wits in order to haggle and outsmart people without the use of violence.
Being a successful thief is one thing, making sure not to draw too much attention to yourself is another.
With the passing years underneath The Scavengers, Nenet was able to gain her name of “Swift Paws” as she was able to nab things most people couldn’t.
Not to mention, Nenet was living a much better life; no longer having to worry about going hungry or being broke.
At age 21, the biggest heist Nenet was a part of was raiding the Pharaoh’s palace and stealing “The Daggers of Set” for herself.
She heard these daggers used by Set himself had magical teleporting powers and could cut through anything like butter.
Nenet was able to pose as a new attendant to the Vizier due to her natural beauty.
When no one was looking, she stole the daggers while the rest of the troop distracted the royals.
These daggers immediately synergized with Nenet she found herself gaining said powers from the daggers.
She would test out her powers inside the palace itself and steal even more valuables than she imagined.
The Scavengers lived off of those earnings for the next four years happily, and Shahid stepped down and let Nenet become the leader of the caravan.
Nenet would continue to steal with ease thanks to the daggers, and then, one new item caught her eye.
The Warp Scarab was another magical item used by Set.
It was locked deep in the Tomb of Nezmat, a Pharaoh that ran The Cult of Set in the shadows.
Wanting to further her warp skill, Nenet broke inside and located the Warp Scarab with ease.
She would grab the amulet and would be fueled with power.
But, unfortunately for Nenet, this would be her end, as her mortal body couldn’t handle the surging power.
With an instant, Nenet’s body was destroyed, not leaving a trace of her at all.
Nenet would wake up in a daze, finding herself in front of all mighty Anubis; god of the dead.
Anubis held the Set objects in his hands and was talking to Thoth and Ammit to figure out what to do with this “special case”
Thoth would mention no mere mortal had ever been able to use the full power of the Daggers of Set before, or even been able to hold on to the Warp Scarab for more than 3 seconds.
There was no hope for Nenet’s soul to reach Aaru, as she had done far too many misdeeds in her life; especially raiding tombs.
While Ammit was about to steal Nenet’s soul, Anubis would stop her.
He had felt a tad sorry for Nenet, as she wasn’t given a fair lot in life, and knew that she stole for the sake of survival for the most part.
But, Anubis wasn’t going to turn a blind eye to her looting of the tombs he was protecting.
Anubis would cut Nenet a deal, with his powers, he would turn Nenet into a God and allow her to use the full power of the Daggers of Set and Warp Scarab.
But, she would work under Anubis and the other Gods that lived in Duat.
Nenet would mostly be tasked with finding stolen godly artifacts and returning them to the tombs, crypts, and temples they were stolen from.
It would be a way for her to repent for her sin, and get to continue to live her afterlife.
And if it was needed, to kill some dangerous individuals using Godly artifacts for mass murder.
Not having much of a choice, Nenet accepted, as Anubis would mummify Nenet and have her to be resurrected as she is now; a new God of Chaos.
While Nenet was a bit resistant at first, she quickly grew to appreciate her new lot in the afterlife.
The Gods acted like normal people she knew in life, and she got to travel the world in a sense hunting down artifacts to retrieve.
Plus, Nenet gets to spend time with Anubis on her downtime, who she is very fond of.
Personality:
Nenet is rather feisty and fiery.
Even since she was young with The Scavengers, she had to be tough in order to keep up with the members in her caravan.
This led to her acting a bit more impulsive and could get her into trouble.
She would often be found getting into fights, making sure that she was paid for her jobs in full.
However, in a twisted, intelligent way, she’d use said fights as a reason to learn how to exploit weaknesses.
Most of the Scavengers never picked up on this, and after a while Nenet was able to win some fights without having to use much force.
This carried over as Nenet got older, she’d rely less on getting into direct fights, and use her wit and charm in order to get herself out of trouble.
With Nenet’s ideas, she was able to worm herself into places and situations she had no business being in.
This would allow her to gain favors with some high members of society that helped kept her from getting caught.
Being reborn in Duat as a God with her new powers, she has become even more crafty.
When Nenet is stalking in the mortal realm, she finds her prey and taps into ways to heighten their fear while inside abandon ruins.
She’ll use her chaotic powers to give life to statues, warp objects around, toss debris at the intruders, and sometimes actually appearing out of the darkness.
Nenet’s efforts and tactics have earned her the name of “The Trickster Cat” by mortals, and she abuses this fact to instill further fear.
Perhaps it’s a tad sadistic on Nenet’s end, but when said robber stop visiting ruins because they are “haunted” it makes repeat offenders less common.
When she isn’t on the job, Nenet can be found making conversations with the other Gods of Duat.
She might be a little too casual and slightly vulgar for Thoth’s liking, but it made Nenet an instant favorite with Ammit; as those two became fast friends.
As for her beloved Anubis, she tends to be very flirtatious whenever he is around.
She is very not subtle about the lewd acts she wishes to preform with the God of the Dead.
Powers:
With the Daggers of Set and Warp Scarab in Nenet’s possession, she is able to warp and teleport herself through objects and places.
By the use of small portals, Nenet can more or less phase in and out of wherever she needs to be.
This makes her main job easy, and at the same time allows her to be very effective in combat.
Like a ghost, Nenet can phase her body in and out of tangibility.
Nenet mostly uses this power to grab objects through walls to avoid damaging the ruin surrounding it.
But in battle, this is quite scary, as Nenet can just ignore her foes as they try to hit her.
She only uses this as a scare tactic, to frighten away lesser thieves, so long as they promise never to return.
While Nenet has godly strength and durability, she has far more fun confusing her foes into thinking she is in many places at once.
It’s when her opponents are at their most confused is when she strikes swiftly and without mercy.
Nenet can also push her enemies into her own portals to jumble them up and hurl them elsewhere.
She can also use her portals to redirect any projectiles back at her attackers.
In more physical combat with Nenet’s Daggers of Set, she can toss them at a foe, and teleport towards them.
If Nenet is feeling tricky, she’ll phase the daggers out and make them solid again to pass through others just to hit another target.
Plus, with how insanely sharp her daggers are, Nenet can just slice anything with a flick of the wrist.
Swords, Shields, Hammers, Axes, and Armor, nothing stands in her way.
