Available in my ETSY

If Vinyl Scratch (DJ Pon3) was transformed into a plushie, I think she'd look like this. >_>

I wish I could keep all the ponies I make, but alas, I do not have the room to do so. So, I hope there's a brony out there who will give Vinyl Scratch the love she so deserves!

MOAR PICTURES

Details
- Vinyl Scratch/ Dj Pon3 is from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
- Crocheted with Bernat's Pipsqueak yarn
- Her hair is done using a super secret special technique that I "invented" (someone else might do it, but I came across it by experimentation)--- here's a hint, it's made of yarn.
- Goggles (some call them glasses) and cutie mark are machine embroidered and hand sewn on.
- Stuffed with Poly-fil
- She is floppy and perfect size to be a "shoulder buddy" ...a nice option for those of you who frequent conventions and want your hands free!
- Aaaand lays approximately 17 inches long from her front hooves to her back hooves.

Could you make other ponies in this style? Like...Luna perhaps? And also how much do these Β cost? Note me?

honestly I haven't worked with this type of plushie in almost 2 years (because it's crocheted). I'll have to see if this type of yarn is still in production and if they make it in other colors before I can give you a straight answer about it.

Wow, this is amazing! I've tried Pipsqueak yarn a couple of times before, and I had trouble keeping track of my stitches. I always had one odd lump somewhere from a missed stitch. May I ask what hook you use?
And this photo doesn't do the hair justice. I went and looked at the other pictures, that hair is beautiful! It looks like needle felting.

Thank you! Oh yes...its a tough yarn to use! I used a 5mm hook . I had to take out plenty of stitches while crocheting this lol, I also counted stitches like crazy.

Aw thanks! It actually is needle felted :3

Oh, good to know I'm not alone! It's not nearly as difficult as some of the other fluffy or fun-fur type brands (I bought this wonderfully fluffy yarn one time. I couldn't use ANY of it, it was much to fluffy). I will have to give it another go sometime, the results are just so cozy and soft.

You trickster, you said it was yarn! Or... did you needle felt actual yarn? Oh, I bet it was something to do with brushing out the yarn, right? I'm not very familiar with needle felting, but I'd love to try.

Oh I completely agree. It's worth struggling with, throwing it, and picking it up again a bit later. lol.

Hehe yes... it's yarn that I cut into long strips, sewed into the pony, then brushed out and needlefelted into place. It's a wool blend so it worked pretty well. I can't imagine it'd work well with acrylic yarns though. Needle felting isn't hard to learn how to do, but you'll stab yourself a LOT doing it. A lot of people ask me how needle felting works so I made this little progress type deviation for the Hoppip that I made a while ago [link] can give you a better idea of how needle felting looks while you're doing it.

I also made a detailing tutorial that shows how I needle felt ponies' hair, but that's a part of the pattern I sell for the chibi ponies I make. [link] The detailing tutorial itself has over 200 pictures if I remember correctly lol.

Thanks! That was pretty helpful. Now it's just a matter of buying the things. I've done some looking, the needle kits are pretty expensive, which is kind of a bummer.
Thanks for the advice. :]

You're welcome ^-^ ... I buy little packs of needles for a few dollars at livingfelt [[link] . I do have one of the clover felting tools, but I got that at AcMoore with a 50% off coupon lol.
I also have one of the felting block things (almost looks like a horse brush), but I never use it. It really only works for felting the "core" because it winds up pulling some of the fibers away with the softer wool. Instead, I use cheap sponges from the dollar store.

Oh, that looks much more reasonable. And the sponges are a good idea. Thanks! I'll do some exploring.

TheHarley In reply to NoMoreThanMe [2012-11-01 14:46:44 +0000 UTC]

Quite possibly! ^^ ...Commissions are closed right now, but after the holidays I'll probably open them again~ so if you have some monies then...we can talk about a fuzzy Pegasus
(I understand the lack of dough, I've been job hunting since May and all I've been able to get is a part time online tutoring job).

TheHarley In reply to NoMoreThanMe [2012-11-01 15:59:56 +0000 UTC]

That'll work perfectly then ^^
AGREED. It is pretty depressing. Yeah, I sell plushies/purses/etc on Etsy and tutor...I had an awesome job as a student worker while I was at my University...but then I graduated. So I couldn't work there anymore. Now I have a Biology degree (graduated cum laude- so my gpa was high) with lab experience, but that isn't good enough apparently. *grumbles*
