Description The Hideaway Tavern - Entry 072
"Witchful Predictions"
Part 2
"Isabella Willow"

The night carried on as Vera and her guards searched every whisper and roamer that led towards the location of this mysterious fortune teller. But alas they only lead to dead ends. Vera had heard countess people speak of knowing where to find her, however every tale ended in a different location. "How could this woman be in so many locations at once?" Vera thought to herself as the chill of the night weighed on her like a heavy blanket. One would think she had multiple shops setup, if not for the fact that many of these locations were abandon or had nothing in them. Still though, Vera continued to searched on. Her memories of the night blurred together from the times she sneaked out to the Red Light District. Only this time she was sober and mostly clear headed. She had a clear goal in mind tonight, and that was to find this strange woman. So she carried on, through the streets.

As they arrived in the older parts of the city, the clocks of Vapotentia struck midnight and the two guards addressed Vera. "M'lady Countess, it is midnight. I must insist we head back to the palace now." Said one of the guards, but Vera was not ready to return home yet. They had no idea what she was looking for. They had no idea the importance of this night's stroll. Vera thought about running from them, however she remembered trying to do that as a girl and always being caught. It was useless, and knew it was time to return home. With a disappointed heart Vera reluctantly agreed it was time to retire home for the night. "Alright... You can take me back home now." Vera said to the guards holding her head down. She waited a moment and heard no response from them. "I said I am ready to go back now." She repeated herself and still heard no answer. Vera turned around and noticed they were gone. In-fact, everyone on the street was gone, as if they had all vanished into thin air!

Vera looked around at the empty street in confusion, feeling the hair on her neck stand up. "Where is everyone? What is going on?" She thought to herself, struggling alittle to keep her composure. A lantern slowly faded in and out from the corner of her eye. Vera caught by it's strange behavior, turned her attention to the waving light. Beside the lantern was a small rustic house that had not been there before. Vera started to second guess herself, how could she have missed that? Was it there the whole time? Vera felt a strange and warm feeling come over her, as if it was pulling her towards the house. She began to approach the house slowly as the lantern stopped fading in and out. As Vera stepped onto the porch, she raised her hand to knock on the door when suddenly the door swung open with a loud creak, taking Vera by surprise.

A young woman stood in the doorway wearing a brown corset, white blouse, long fingerless gloves, and a black collar that sailors would wear at sea. She had sparkling lavender colored eyes, and hair as bright as a summer sky. She looked Vera up and down, from head to toe and with a deviant grin and said "Oy! Well if it isn't' Ms. Vera Oichi! Yau're early! Or mayb' I am? Eithuh way, com' in! I've just' put' on som' tea." The woman rushed back inside, leaving Vera at the door. Vera was shocked, confused, and dumbfounded, but kept her composure still. The woman turned back to face Vera. "Don't be coi. Yau're letting the heat' aut. Com' insid' already. Yau hav' alot' on yauh mind and we hav' till the tea runs aut to talk abaut' it." Said the young lady with an eccentric tone. Vera gathered herself and stepped inside the tiny rustic home, closing the door behind her. Could this be who she was looking for? This girl was not at all how the stories made her out to be. But she was here now, and Vera was ready to find out who she was and if she could give her the answers she was looking for.
